(More customer reviews)I've owned Virgin Mobile for my last 3 phones. I even have their oldest model in use (my son). The Cyclops is a great addition to the line and is an affordable camera phone as well. One of the biggest complaints of Virgin users in the past was the low ring tone. I used to have to set my phone on "high and vibrate" just to hear it. That's definitely been fixed. The phone has a great range for volume settings. I could also transfer my phone number and BALANCE when I purchased this phone. That was welcome surprise, especially since these don't come with any contract. Because I use my phone so little, it actually costs me about $7 a month when I 'top up'. In addition, the Cyclops phone has free evenings and weekends. Wow..what a bargain! I really recommend this phone to just about everyone, especially those with kids. It's a great first phone at a great price. The Virgin line also comes with a pre-paid bag to send in your old phone for recycling. I've had great customer service, btw...even on Labor Day.

Kyocera Marbl Prepaid Phone (Virgin Mobile) Review

My teen rarely uses his phone, but it gets the job done and "never" needs charging. I charged the new Marbl and left it unused and closed overnight and in the morning the battery was low and the phone could not be used. I thought about exchanging the phone until I saw all the CNET reviews complaining about lousy battery life. I returned the Marbl and will wait till something better comes along.

(More customer reviews)For anyone considering the purchase of this (or another) Virgin Mobile phone, do not be influenced by the identical negative reviews posted for several Virgin Mobile phones by someone calling himself "lookout guy." I cannot comment on the month to month plans, having only been a pay-as-you-go by-the-minute guy since I got my Virgin Mobile phone over two years ago. I can tell you that lookout guy is totally WRONG in terms of any "hidden fee" in terms of the by-the-minute service offered by Virgin Mobile. There is NO $1.50/day fee; if there was, no one would choose this option because it would end up costing more than a monthly plan. (Duh.) I can confirm that you only pay for the minutes you use. If you don't use your phone for days (even weeks) at a time, you pay nothing. The ONLY charge for having access to a Virgin Mobile phone on the by-the-minute plan is the minimum top-up charge (supposedly $20 every three months but after you become a customer you can get it down to $15 every three months if you choose auto top-up with a credit card). So if you NEVER use your phone, that's what it costs. Of course, you would simply end up accruing money in your account to be debited when you do finally use your phone. As long as you use your phone minimally (for emergencies and for very brief, occasional conversations only), you'll pay only $5-$6.66/month. I oughta know -- my balance keeps growing and growing because I rarely use my phone; if I were being charged a $1.50/day "access charge" I would know it.
Only you can decide if a pay-as-you-go plan such as this is suitable for you, but here's the quick math: if you know you will use your phone at least five minutes per day almost every day, then this plan isn't for you as it would cost you $37.50/month for only 150 minutes of use based on 25 cents/minute. If, like me, you are likely to have many days where you don't use the phone at all and other days where you use only a few minutes (with rare days that you use over 10 minutes), then this plan will be a bargain. (I used to be a Sprint PCS customer and ended up paying, on average, $1/minute for my calls because of my minimal phone use -- in other words, over four times as much as my Virgin Mobile minutes cost at their highest rate.)

Now on to this phone, which I just purchased earlier this week: I definitely like this upgrade to my K7 Rave phone. The color screen is nice and the entire phone looks sharp. Swapping phones was easy, though I didn't get the text message from Virgin indicating that my new phone was active as the customer service rep indicated. Instead I just tried the phone out after a few hours and discovered that it had, in fact, been activated.
Reception seems pretty much the same as my other Virgin Mobile phone (good but not excellent).
I'm enjoying the Virgin Mobile X-Tras and have downloaded a few files for wallpapers/screensavers as well as some ringtones from my favorite Comedy Central shows. These downloads aren't cheap (10 cents per day just to access Virgin X-Tras and then typically $2-$3 per item downloaded), but I had so much money built up in my account that I figured I could splurge for a little while.

(More customer reviews)I have to say, after owning the Wildcard for 1 1/2 years(and oh boy, did I suffer), I am thoroughly impressed by the XTC.
The XTC has a crisp, large screen. The resolution is marvelous, it takes very nice pictures in medium to bright light, and the fonts, program design is very attractive. You can set it to three different themes- the black/red Virgin Mobile color combo, white, or black. I use the black and it looks so amazing.
The keyboard takes some getting used to, but after inputting all of my contacts from previous Wildcard phone, I am loving the keyboard layout. I love how the "back" key is at the right bottom corner. The keys are decent sized, easy to press, and the keys are really responsive. Plus the design looks very elegant and functional.
The sound quality is also MUCH better than the Wildcard. In fact, I'd like to say that I am absolutely pleased with the earpiece sound quality and volume, and the speakerphone volume and sound clarity. I loaded a couple hundred songs onto the micro SD card, which I popped into the XTC, and playing back the music was actually very clear and pleasant, even when I playback heavy rock songs.
Overall I find the XTC to be very functional, slim, well-designed, and my only fears now are my fingerprints smearing the glossy screen or accidentally dropping the phone because I've been using the phone so often.

(More customer reviews)I've had this phone for two years now! It has been a pretty solid device. Call quality is very decent and I can count on one hand the amount of times I've experienced a dropped call. I love the fact that I can be logged into AIM and Yahoo IM at the same time all while receiving SMS and email from yahoo, gmail, and hotmail. The inbox is great and I love how they put it all in one place. The music player is fine and it plays MP3's, WMA's and AAC files. It doesn't have a standard 3.5mm earphone jack. It has an adapter so that you can plug in your earphones. The SD Card slot is conveniently located so I can swap out in a pinch. (None of that battery cover opening crap) Unfortunately, this thing eats the battery like a kid eats candy. You'll have to charge it every day. The phone is also a bit big so it won't fit in your pocket very well. But it's solid though. I've dropped it a few times and it's taken some hard spills. The slider still works great. The phone is very durable. The screen looks very good and can be very bright if you want it to be. Texting is nice, but now I've had a problem with it missing some of my keypresses lately. It wasn't like this initially and it doesn't happen unless I am texting fast. I'm guessing it's because my phone is a bit old now. This problem started a few months ago. The internet is pretty quick on it and I've hardly ever been without 3G reception. Youtube videos load really quick. All in all, this has been a great phone that has served me well. If you are looking for something cheap, reliable, and full of features, I can't suggest a better phone.
I'll be honest, I really want a new phone now. I was thinking about getting an iPhone but I am leary of the call quality issues in comparison. So I'll stick with this for now until iPhone comes out for Verizon. :)

(More customer reviews)Probably. In most states. But i bought this VM LG Rumor Touch at the 'red & white rings' store when it was on sale. Overall it's a great electronic device. Amazon and virgin mobile's site does a great job of describing it and telling you what to expect. I'll share just some impressions and not-so-great-things about it. But make no mistake, i'd recommend this easily.
likes:
* mp3's come through clear and crisp in external speaker(headphones and usb cable included)
* that 3" touchscreen is nice compared to my previous 2" screen on my last cell. it's like going from standard def to HD(sorta)
* pics are good and sharp. my shaky hand and some pics look blurry when in camera mode. but once you take it and view it, it looks great. thanks image stabilization(or a variation of it)
* micro-sd slot is great for adding lots of mp3's. have not figured how to transport pics and vids to the sd-card slot to view on my camera yet. but then, i'm an idiot with gadgets. (figured it out, just go to tools>mass storage>file manager)
* qwerty keyboard is fairly spaced out for me, but if you got big/chubby fingers you might have problems.
* i'm a cheap bastard, so i only pay $25 a month for this phone, total! i get 300 anytime minutes for calls, unlimited texts/pic msgs(not including the free messaging through social networks and emails), and unlimited web access. do i need to even repeat that? of course, higher plans with more talk minutes are available as an option.
* 3G built-in(but no wi-fi). Spotty at times, but mostly consistent and reliably there when you want to surf the web.
dislikes:
* not very good video playback in camcorder mode. it's serviceable, and at least the option to take videos and watch them is there. just don't expect high-quality.
* you can customize ur pics, but nothing really special or extensive. worse, you don't seem to be able to organzize your pics into specific albums(i will apologize if this option turns up, but i can't find any extensive options to organize your pics)
* scrolling through long lists is imprecise and can be frustrating.
* you can't seem to assign your mp3's as ringtones.
* the default is an 'unlock' screen where you slide to unlock it to access your phone. doesn't bother me much, but i decided that i would leave my cell unlocked cause i could see it might annoy me if i had to unlock it with some code or procedure, no thanks. besides, it's not like i have government secrets on my phone.
Overall, great phone(i've actually used it for calls a few times and the reception is good and i live out in the boonies sort of), tons of features, and a cheap monthly plan for me with other options for others. Highly recommended.

* only $70 on black fri sale at best buy
* disappointed at lack of customization/organization options concerning contacts, mp3's, pics, videos, and messages.
* gently using your fingernail as a stylus is more precise than using your finger(ok that was too obvious but i'm a slow learner)

LG Aloha Prepaid Phone (Virgin Mobile) Review

(More customer reviews)I'm not really a fan of cell phones because of the silly and discourteous ways they're used by so many. But there are times they come in handy, even for me.
I make three or four business trips a year, plus an out-of-town vacation or two, and the cell phone is really a major convenience on those occasions. But the absence of one has never bothered me enough to make me commit to an expensive phone, much less a long-term contract.
I noticed some prepaid phones at a supermarket a few months ago, and did a little research. I was able to get the Aloha for $19.99, bought a $20 card for Virgin Mobile service, and was up and running for only $40.
So far, I've used the phone in Cleveland, Denver and Phoenix with good results. No dropped calls, and pretty good call quality. The phone is easy enough to use that you won't forget how if you put it away for a few days, and the storage of contacts, plus the scheduler make the phone worth the money and then some.
If you're a cell phone buff, or want to impress your friends, this isn't the phone for you. No camera or outside display. Volume could be a little louder, and you've got to position the phone just right for best results. But at this price, it's a great phone for the light user, or as a temporary phone, or for someone who does not have good credit or prefers not to give out a credit card number.
If you fall into these categories, the Aloha is an excellent choice.

Sprint Samsung Moment SPH-M900 Android Smartphone Review

(More customer reviews)Samsung Moment started as a really great phone, but after a few weeks began having minor technical glitches. Ok, no problem. I've had this experience before with a previous cellphone. Even after having Sprint take a look at the phone, offer me a new replacement, and having to RESET the replacement (due to so many technical errors), I still can not get the phone to operate as consistently and efficiently as it should. It constantly freezes, crashes, dials/hangs up when IT decides it wants to. If the phone is rebooted, it takes WAAY longer than a phone should- four to twenty minutes AND more. Once, it took several hours to get the phone past its opening "Samsung" credit!!! This included taking out the battery, letting it have it's moment, putting the battery back in, restart and still...(time passes)...nothing. Repeat.
I've talked to other owners of this phone type and they've had the same issues. This phone is FULL of Drama and I would NOT trust it if needed in an emergency. I can only hope that Samsung gets better and never produces another piece-of-crap phone like this.
