(More customer reviews)This phone is very cute. It's very slim, which is nice. Good reception, so far no dropped calls (this depends on your network though). I have the pink. Doesn't have much protection to it if you were to drop it. It doesn't look there are many options for skins or cases out yet. I'd recommend insurance on your phone just in case it were to break.

The Sanyo Katana II mobile phone enhances the spirit of the original Katana with a sleeker shape, a radiant new pink fascination finish, and a host of refined features. It operates on Sprint's North American CDMA voice and Sprint Vision network, which provides Web access as well as email and text messaging capability. This flip phone also features a 21 MB memory--significantly increasing the capacity for games, ringtones, and applications from the original Katana--a VGA camera, Bluetooth connectivity for communication headsets, and optional GPS service.
The Sprint Vision network gives you the power to access Web sites, view your email, and send a variety of text and multimedia messages. Sprint Mobile Email enables access to email from popular providers simply by entering username and password with no downloads required. You can also access Web-based email from such services as AOL and Windows Live as well as chat on IM networks. The T9 predictive text entry technology is built into the unit, which makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

I think this phone is great for people ages 15 + , great for a high school student (boys & girls , it comes in blue) & also great for someone in a business who needs a PDA/Smartphone but I suggest you don't get it if you're in higher corporate business'... but overall I'm in love with my phone & I recommend it, GET IT :]

(More customer reviews)This phone is by far my favorite phone I've had. I got it because in a military life, we go overseas a lot and go to France soon. I wanted something I could use here in the US and in other countries. These are the things I love about the phone:
User friendly-Easy to navigate and set things up. If I got lost on anything, it was easy to find out how to do things in the booklet that comes with it.
It's a great size for me. I'm petite and so I like the small size but it's not too small for me.
I love the qwerty keyboard. Easy to use and figure out and the numbers along side the front of the phone are also easy to use when you don't want/need to pull out the keyboard
It's very light but seems pretty sturdy. The sound is decent for the speaker/music and the calls are clear.
The FM radio function is kinda nifty. I won't use it a ton but is easy to use and was easy to set up. You have to use the earphones to use the radio.
Several ringers/alerts to choose from and easy to switch the melodies and the volume
I like the colors it comes in--I couldn't find it in green but pink is fine and I get lots of compliments on it.
The camera/video is easy to use. Not the best pictures but average for a camera phone
Battery life is goodThings I don't like:
The ear buds are HUGE! They don't fit in my ear very well and wish there were different sizes.
The phone didn't come with a usb cord to hook it up to the computer. Not a huge deal but I am still trying to figure out if it's possible to get music onto the memory card and get the music off the card and into the music files--still haven't had luck with that but not a big deal
Didn't come with a memory card so get one when you buy it.
I'm sure there's more I didn't think of and more I'll think of as I've only had it for about a week. I'm very happy with the product and am so glad I did the research and found the perfect phone for me.

Alao, its design is far better, its not so long and wade, it slips right into your pocket because there isnt an antena or sharp edges. Its also very durable, I'v dropped it twice and it still works perfectly, and whatever material surrounds the metal casing is virtually scratch-proof, so it still looks great too.

The image shown is completely misleading.The phone that I received, was mauve but a different one from the picture shown on the Amazon web site.
The mauve phone that I got was a grayish dull mauve and not the pretty pinkish mauve as advertised. Also,the phone had 2 different color tones. At night/in the lighting at night, the top part of the phone(the part that flips open) and its corresponding part at the back of the phone looks completely gray.
Needless to say, I spoke to customer service and sent the phone back for an exchange.I didn't have to pay the shipping charges.
The 2nd phone that came had the same color problem again, so for the 2nd time I returned it and got my money refunded.
I gave 1 star due to the customer service provided, but again they could not help me. Some one said it could be an item with a defect....but for me
the whole experience was disappointing.
If you are ready to spend so much on this phone its because of the brand, and the 'color' which you will never get because Amazon has put the wrong image on the web page...very misleading and wrong to all the customers.
Incidentally, this color as seen is offered by Verizon and they call it 'pink', but Amazon calls it 'mauve',though the phone and the image shown do not match.
So stay away from ordering this pretty mauve phone...all you will get is loads of disappointment with your time being wasted.

Thin is definitely in. At just over a half-inch thick, the Motorola RAZR V3 is the perfect combination of sleek design and powerful features. With long-range Bluetooth, support for video playback, a VGA (640 x 480) camera, a full-color screen, and quad-band capability, the RAZR V3 is everything you're looking for in a stylish mobile companion.
DesignThe RAZR V3's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, anodized aluminum construction. The first thing you'll notice when you flip open the handset is its impressive, 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors. Meanwhile, the outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color screen that can display pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. I think this phone is a really, really nice verison of the razr, being that I've had 2 other razrs (v3 and v3i). This one feels a lot more sturdy in your hand, and it doesnt feel cheap as the v3 did, while maintaining its sleek, slim look, unlike the v3x which is a lot thicker. Furthermore, the camera on this razr is far superior to the previous versions, excluding the v3x(2 megapixels). It has a 1.3 megapixel camera, but I don't really use it for the camera, its only good for those surprise moments :P. Also I've noticed that the audio quality is a lot better than the other razrs, the songs/ringtones sound a lot more crisp and rich. Also the phonebook feature is fixed, I used to hate to have to wait like 30 seconds just to get to what contact I wanted (v3), Also new to this razr, is the voice command system, you can instantly look up numbers via voice command. You can also check battery levels, and signal strength. And the pause between letters in a text message is reduced, so no more waiting 2 seconds to type "no" :). Battery life is very much improved from the other razr models probably because this is a CDMA phone instead of the normal GSM razrs. A con however is the fact that if it gets scratched you will be able to easily tell it did, but I believe they offer this phone in silver if this is an issue. If you want to get really fancy you could get a custom case designed and handmade for your phone at [..].IF YOU BOUGHT THE VERIZON MUSIC ESSENTIALS KIT, OR THE VERIZON MOBILE OFFICE KIT, THE NEXT PARAGRAPH IS POINTLESS FOR YOU TO READ. For the rest of us who don't see giving Verizon more money on top of the phone price and service charge, read on.As for the hacking part as one person said previously, you can use bitpim to hack this phone. If you want to put music onto it without wasting more money on that Verizon software that allows you to do so, simply find p2k phone manager, MAKE SURE IT IS THE VERSION THAT WORKS WITH CDMA PHONES OR ELSE IT WILL NOT WORK. There are some tutorials that I found useful to help you through this, and when you're done hacking and stuff, you can have a lot of bonus features that Verizon disabled, such as music/ringtone transfer with MPT(Motorola Mobile Phone Tools), wireless bluetooth transfer, disabling the ringtones that come with it, changing the outer LCD screen. If you choose to do any of these, it will void your warranty, it is not illegal however. If mobile phone tools doesn't detect this phone, you may have the same problem I did, I was running an older version of the software. Also to enable music and ringtone transfer you have to use seem edits, which can be done with p2k phone manager. See, Verizon disabled the feature by making MPT think that the phone was a v3m when in fact the software has the device drivers listed as v3mm, also if those steps dont work after reading some tutorials, you may want to select v3c as your phone model. Another thing, the cable that comes with it that you're supposed to plug you headphones into, is FOR SMALL HEADPHONES, meaning its a 2.5mm jack instead of a 3.5, so YOU NEED SPECIAL HEADPHONES TO USE THAT FEATURE. But me being me, found a way around this. I used a knife to pry off the top part with the M logo on it and got to the insides. theres a circuit board and some wires connected to the jack. I used another phone jack from one of my broken CD players I had lying around. They're exactly the same connections and size (the smaller jack and the bigger one) so I put the bigger one on top of the smaller jack and soldered it to the bottom part, if you know what you're doing this shouldn't take more than half an hour. After I was finished I used an xacto blade to carefully cut the shape of the new phone jack out(because with two of them the cover wouldn't fit, and I wanted the bigger and the smaller jack). Then I had to also cut around the little part that holds the smaller hole at the bottom as to make it fit. After this was done I used some electrical tape(mostly because I wanted the adapter to stay black not gray with duck tape) and proceeded to wrap around it. Hopefully if you want to save like 50 bucks from buying the Verizon software you will try this, but then you need to buy the memory card and that will set you back like the same price haha, but you'll have like 512 mb instead of the 128 mb that comes in the Verizon package. This phone is meant for one thing -- Style. And not one other phone in the market comes close to this phone in style - and the sales of this phone prove it.
The signal strength on this phone is very good. In elevators where I didnt get signal with other phones, this phone picks up enough signal to carry the conversation through without any of those "didnt hear you - can you repeat that?". I really havent seen another GSM phone with signal quality as strong as this one, which is funny because this phone's antenna doesnt even stick out (internal antenna). Bluetooth audio is clear - I have verified this with the Jabra BT200 and the Motorola HS820.Camera is good, but not as good as some other phones out there. Video is good, not as good as other phones out there. No memory card. Here's the bottom line - if you want a phone that works like a good phone and looks damn good, this is the phone for you. If you want a phone that does videos / audio etc, then look elsewhere - or wait for the v3i.
Want a good looking phone with great voice quality? Buy this phone. Theres really no competition. Want a camera + camcorder + mp3 player + organizer + toaster? Skip it...

Messaging(9/10)- Messaging is extremely simple on this phone. There is no difficulty figuring out what is what. You will have to play around with it a bit to get accustomed to it however. You can also keep a record of your conversations from person to person, so there is no need to go back and forth to each message to see what you wrote.
PS: They keys are considerably small. If you have giant fingers or even marginally large ones, texting may be a little difficult as you may end up pressing more than one button at a time.
Music(9/10): The music player is wonderful. It will display the CD cover or whatever picture you have set for each song. There is a shuffle feature, however, I took a point off because the shuffle is so random, sometimes you may come across the same songs, and never seem to get around to the others. The sound is very clear and concise. No static. The headphones they give you with it will slip out of your ears a lot. So I recommend purchasing an adapter that goes to 3.5mm headphones that way you can put in your own.

Radio(9/10) -The radio is excellent! As far as reception, its the same as any portable device, so I can't comment on that but as far as shortcuts, station setting, etc, its amazing.
Memory(9/10)- The largest memory card you can purchase for the phone is 8GB, which is good enough for me. I can put lots of music and videos without worrying about space. Internal memory is 34MB, which isn't so bad
Camera/Video(8/10)- The camera is a 2MP camera and it's not bad. It's pretty much what you would expect from a 2MP camera phone. The features, such as zoom/effects/night mode/timer/viewfinder, etc are all very good. More than most phones I would say. The video player works great. Dont expect Iphone quality but it does what I need it to do for a quick video. And sound pick-up is great.
Organizer(10/10)-The organizer is great. Here is a list of the organizer features:
-Calender(lists wk number on the side as a bonus)[Also lists events you have missed]
-MEMO-A very simple tool that you can simply use to write something down for later use. I use it to write down songs I want to download. Very useful
-TASK- This is similar to memo except that this is better used for events and remembrances that you can set an alarm to
-WORLD CLOCK-Useful for seeing time around the world(I never use it)
-CALCULATOR-A very basic and simple calculator(not scientific) that useful for just taking a quick mathematical process
-CONVERTER-This is a wonderful tool for doing conversions and it is very easy to use. You can convert Length, Weight, Volume, Area, and Temperature
Internet(?)- This is the biggest flaw, not because I think the internet sucks or anything. Frankly, I haven't even used the internet for the phone. I have T-mobile and previously, I paid $10 a month for internet. I assumed it would be the same. but when I got the phone, it said i couldn't use the internet. I looked through the plans and the cheapest one was $30 a month! YIKES! Maybe not for you, but for me, that is VERY expensive for a mobile internet. But that may be because it's unlocked. It may be different for you. I have no idea. So I'm disappointed about that. I was hoping for wi-fi to make up for it. But this phone has no wi-fi. But I already knew that when I bought it so it didn't bother me too much. Overall: An excellent phone that I would highly recommend. It has a unique look. I love the numbers on the side. It's not bothering in the slightest. However, if you know you have very large fingers, the keyboard may not be the best for you.

Pros:
- Crystal-clear calling. No static and loud when needed.
- The screen is amazing. The resolution is awesome. By far the best I've ever seen on a phone this size.
- This phone is tiny; in a good way. Super-slim and tucks nicely in your pocket. Being that it's a slider, you'll never have to worry about pocket-dialing. :)
- The software is very easy to navigate. This is nicely improved over the Motorola interface of my older RAZR.
- The MP3 player rocks; no pun intended. The Walkman software lets you sort by Artists, Albums, Tracks, Playlists and more. This is light-years ahead of the my old RAZR's MP3 player. This one rivals any standalone MP3 device I've used.
- The stereo headphones that comes with it include a 3.5mm adapter. While the included headphones sound great, this adapter gives you the flexibility to use your Bose, Shure or other stereo headphones. A very nice option.
- Unlike "some" other sliders, the camera is protected and kept under cover when the slide is closed. This works great in keeping dust off the lens.
- The 2.0MP camera is actually pretty good. It takes great outdoor photos.
- I LOVE the fitness/step counter. It measures distance in steps and calculated miles along with the calories you've burned. It also keeps a daily average and each days results.
Cons:
- No 3G
- Sony Proprietary Memory Stick Micro M2 versus easy to find and less expensive MicroSD
- No LED Flash or Photo Light
In conclusion, if you are looking for a super-slim phone with great call quality and superb music capability, look no further. This Sony wears the Walkman name with pride.
Note: I recently bought a SanDisk SDMSM2-4096-A11M 4GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) and it works perfectly. 4GB of music!!!

(More customer reviews)This is my third Blackberry, it replaced a T-Mobile 8700g which replaced a T-Mobile 7230 before that.
Pros:
- Wireless broadband works well, easily connects to laptop via bluetooth and so far has been reliable with very good coverage (much better than T-Mobile)
- Seems physically well designed and well built, very good keyboard, smaller and easier to hold than the 8700 it replaced
- Mouse trackball makes for easy navigation
- Voice dialing good for bluetooth headset
- Improved Blackberry browser (although I still use Opera Mini most of the time)
Cons:
- High cost of service ($30/mo for Blackberry data plan plus ANOTHER $30/mo for laptop tethering)
- Locked GPS. The device has GPS built in but Verizon has "locked" it so that it cannot be used with Google Maps, photo geotagging, or any other third-party GPS program, because they want you to spend another $10 a month for the privilege of using THEIR GPS program.
- Poor quality camera
- No way to have the phone announce the caller/caller ID - so when I'm wearing my bluetooth headset I still have to dig the phone out to see who is calling
- Awkward delivery and registration. Amazon could not give me a straight answer on the unit's shipping/arrival dates. Verizon sent me a welcome email and invited me to register my online account, so I did, then at the end of the process they told me they'd just sent a text message to the phone that I must retreive with 24 hours to complete the process... which was impossible because I didn't have the phone yet!

However, after using it for several months, I absolutely hate it and can't wait to upgrade to something else. While I still like the "lighting" feature and that it's pink, I pretty much hate everything else about it. Reception? Forget it. I drop calls constantly and can't even make or receive calls in my office. And, I know that's not an ATT problem, since I also have a bberry from ATT that gets GREAT reception in my office. While the phone is really cute, it's just not functional for everyday use, unless you like having to redial and redial and redial to try and get through or to call back the person you just dropped. And, sometimes it just refuses to charge despite the fact that it's plugged in. And, it often takes all night to charge despite not having used it much on a particular day. I revise my initial assessment and give it 2 stars.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm writing this review, since there seems to be no others available on the web. This phone, as of now, is not available in AT&T stores but only online, which is how I purchased it - sight unseen. I have the pink one. It was the only other pink phone available via AT&T that was not a Razr (which is what I had prior and absolutely HATED). This phone is likely meant for kids - it has funky ringtones, crazy graphics, and lights up like crazy when the phone rings (you can turn this function off). The front display lights up (with the time or caller ID) when the phone rings or when you push the volume buttons on the side of the phone. There are a few little quirks that I'm trying to get used to (volume buttons don't adjust the volume of the ring when not on a call like my Razr did) but, overall, I'm quite satisfied with the phone. It has a camera, which I've not yet used and links up easily to my Jawbone headset. It's pretty durable (won't fall apart when you drop it like the Razr did), works well, turns on quickly, and I get lots of comments on how cute it is. And, I think the lighting effects are fantastic despite the fact that it's probably designed for high school girls. One thing to note is that it is thicker than the razr, so it doesn't slip into your pocket as well, although it is smaller than the Razr in every other direction. I'd definitely recommend this phone if you want something a little out of the ordinary, or, in the case of the pink one, just plain sassy. :)
