(More customer reviews)I went from my ever-trusty LC Chocolate (1st generation) to this. My main selling point were the similiarities ,in design to the Chocolate. The other selling point was the built-in Bluetooth, which says something being that I never used a Bluetooth device before. Needless to say, I think this phone is great. Nice, sturdy design without being too heavy or bulky. Great response when I touch the top buttons as well as the keypad. The display is absolutely gorgeous with it's 2.2", 262K color screen. The interface is Flash-based and comes with 4 different themes to choose from and looks great. Pictures come out surprisingly clean as well (as with any camera phone, a steady hand does help) and the larger video option (320x240 as opposed to 176x174) is a nice bonus as well. I'm absolutely fascinated by the Bluetooth headset. Ridiculously easy to setup and use. And EVERYONE I talk to was not able to tell I was on a headset, let alone a Bluetooth headset of this size. The ONLY cons I have against this phone are 2 things. I may have found a software bug (at least, that's what I'm hoping) in where I received a Video message from a friend and was not able to play it. It came from an LG phone (the Chocolate) and is the same file type. When I hit Play on my phone, it takes me to the Reply menu commonly found on LG's menus (1. TXT Message, 2. Picture message, etc.) I have still not been able to view it because I can't even save the video. Hoping this will be in the software update. My primary gripe is the music player. Coming off of the Chocolate, I loved the fact that I could play music while receiving text messages, going online, view pictures. Unfortunately, this phone has the standard VZW music player which means if I get a call, receive a text or, at any time, want to go back to my original menu, the music stops. Kind of annoying and a drag and probably something I'll have to get used to. But that's one thing where the Chocolate ruled. In terms of everything else, I'm very pleased with this phone

(More customer reviews)This is the best phone I've ever had. Excellent size, excellent sound, with video camera! If you want a cell phone just to talk, well, this is what you need. Its size makes it easy to transport in any ocassion. I think the only thing I'll would improve on this model is that you have to press the next button to play the next song in case it is saved in the expansion memory card. I really hope this model going back to market cause I want to buy one for my girlfriend (she's really very like this phone) and another one for me in a new color.

This phone is meant for one thing -- Style. And not one other phone in the market comes close to this phone in style - and the sales of this phone prove it.
The signal strength on this phone is very good. In elevators where I didnt get signal with other phones, this phone picks up enough signal to carry the conversation through without any of those "didnt hear you - can you repeat that?". I really havent seen another GSM phone with signal quality as strong as this one, which is funny because this phone's antenna doesnt even stick out (internal antenna). Bluetooth audio is clear - I have verified this with the Jabra BT200 and the Motorola HS820.Camera is good, but not as good as some other phones out there. Video is good, not as good as other phones out there. No memory card. Here's the bottom line - if you want a phone that works like a good phone and looks damn good, this is the phone for you. If you want a phone that does videos / audio etc, then look elsewhere - or wait for the v3i.
Want a good looking phone with great voice quality? Buy this phone. Theres really no competition. Want a camera + camcorder + mp3 player + organizer + toaster? Skip it...

Thin is definitely in. At just over a half-inch thick, the Motorola RAZR V3 is the perfect combination of sleek design and powerful features. With long-range Bluetooth, support for video playback, a VGA (640 x 480) camera and a gorgeous color screen, the RAZR V3 is everything you're looking for in a stylish mobile companion. The Motorola RAZR V3 is truly an impressive quad-band phone. And now it is available in gorgeous pink (some folks call it magenta) for those who want to kick up the style.
Design The RAZR V3's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, anodized aluminum construction. A large 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover. The outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can display pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The VGA camera lens is housed above this display. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control while a voice button on the right side of the unit allows you to enter voice memos and create voice dialing profiles. (More customer reviews)I love this phone. I love it so much when, having had it for just two weeks and accidentally immersing it in seawater so that it died, I bought another one. My original one was a free upgrade but after two weeks I was willing to spend £100 on a replacement. I liked it that much.
I've now had my PEBL for over six months. I still love it, but some of its limitations have become apparent. I'll list the pros and cons and you can judge for yourself.
**Pro the PEBL**
It's a clamshell - why would anyone ever buy a phone that isn't a clamshell and risk phoning someone up when kicking their bag in a pub (yes, I did this with a normal phone, but fortunately phoned the friend I was in the pub with so we realised; saved a huge bill!)?
Beautiful design and, as yet, I haven't found it at all flimsy
That fantastic opening manoeuvre which is just so cool
Some good standard ringtones
Battery life seems fine
Menus are reasonably customisable and there are lots of useful options
The phone is lightweight, fits in a lady's pocket and that smooth shape works well
Reception seems fine wherever I use it and it's always easy to hear people and for them to hear me
**Cons for the PEBL**
The camera is really pants. The one on my previous Samsung was 10 times better and that was an older phone. The video feature is equally pants.
Texting can be slow... you type quite far ahead of the actual phone sometimes, and I'm no speedy teenager at texting
The software that came with the phone doesn't work with my PC running WinXP (I think this is a conflict with my computer as it is meant to work); however, I have some other Bluetooth software which will work for transferring files and stuff, I just can't use all the address book features that are in the proper software
The main thing about this phone for me is the good design and it's very easy to live with. Despite the poor quality of photos I still give it 5 stars because I think it's that good. It won't suit everyone but that's why there are hundreds of different models of phone out there!

I don't talk much on the phone, but I listen to music, watch video, take pictures, and send text msg with it a lot. I charge my phone maybe every three days. I think the battery last a very reasonable amount of time for the way I use it.
The keypad might take awhile to get used to, but I am a keyboard person and I really love the QWERTY keypad. I can type pretty fast with this keypad (I used to think sending text msg was a pain because of the ABC keypad).
The video taken with this phone is in .3GP format. You can just google search K-lite mega codec and download the codec pack. Then you can play the video you take on PC. And the codec pack is free! Or if you think installing codec is too much, you can just download Quicktime. It's also free.
When you buy the phone, there is everything you need inside the box, including menu and CD software.
On the home screen, there are 15 shortcut spaces for you to put some "hard to locate" applications. For internet browser, I recommend Opera. It's way better than the one came with the phone. When I use internet, I always go to the connection (top left corner) to make sure I am connected to a wifi connection. So I never have a problem with it.
Some people mentioned that their phone froze a lot. I think they just got a bad phone. My phone has only frozen once for this one and a half month. Compare to M600i, P1i is really tons faster and responsive. Everything is just so smooth.
I love this phone because it's basically a small PDA with phone function. I can make to-do list. I can read pdf, doc, ppt, etc files. I can watch movies and videos on it. I can listen to music on it. I can use Skype. I can use messengers. For the music player, you can minimize it. So you can actually do something else on the phone while listening to music. There are pretty useful symbian and uiq softwares you can install onto the phone. The most I use is AED (advanced english dictionary). You can also download/buy game console emulator and play old games on the phone! Like GBA, NES, etc.
I also bought a bluetooth receiver for my computer. So that I can connect the phone with the computer through BT, and it is VERY convenient. I can transfer all my files and photos within seconds. I do use card reader to transfer big files like videos since BT is not a fast way to do it.
Now Sandisk makes 8gb M2 card and this phone supports it!
There is only one thing to complain: I still can't get the PC Suite to work... But I can live without it.
In a nutshell, P1i is a great phone. I don't think I will need to buy a new phone within the next three years :D

(More customer reviews)Note: I am transitioning from using the Sony Ericsson P910i smartphone so my review is based on how well the w710i's features work in comparison. I purchased this because I go to remote areas and the P910i needs heavy bandwidth in order for the phone to function. My son's Z500 would work in areas my p910i would not. Review is based on 1 week of usage.
I've also purchased the z710i for my son and will review that one later.

*Others have warned about holdling the phone and interferring with the antenna, I haven't had a problem with this.

*Since I have other Sony phones, I am disappointed that they have changed the shape of the connection for the sync and charger. Translation, you can no longer use the current chargers of the previous generation phones.
*There is no way to charge the phone and use the wired headset. You either listen to the radio or charge the phone.
* You can not use the standard over-the-counter headsets because there is no outlet for it.
*Need to switch settings to view more than one email account
*Yet another memory card format (micro)another adapter needed
*Memory card only 512mb (can purchase 1 or 2gb)

Overall: Sony has always produced quality products. I love this phone and it is a very good comparison to a SmartPhone. I do miss using my styllus. If you don't need the bells and whistles of a smartphone, go for the Z710i as it is a bit cheaper but a great contender.If I could rate it more than 5 stars, I would even though I haven't tried all of the features of this phone. Buy it without hesitation!
ADDENDUM March 5, 2007
I dropped the phone on a tiled bathroom floor. When it hit, the clip, battery cover and battery scattered in different directions on the floor. Amazingly, the phone still operates. The damage is a barely noticeable mark on the upper left of the phone. A mark like that could happen in my purse!
I am really impressed now but hope I never do that again!

You know know Motorola's popular Razr line dominated 2006 and is still a strong contender for 2007, so with that popularity, it seems the company is not going to venture too far from a line that really sky-rocketed them to the No. 1 spot. From the Razr came the new Krzr and Rizr line and so we will pick on the Rizr at this time.
I have had the phone for 3 days know, and I am really impressed with this little thing. The hardest thing for me was just geting use to the Motorola interface (this is my very first Motorola); but besides that, it had all the features I craved...
P..R..O..S......
1) WORLD PHONE Baby - I love Ericsson phones, but they are usually tri-band phones...I needed a quad band phone with all the travelings and phone calls I make, and I knew Motorola is very consistent with this modality.
2)CAMERA & VIDEO based- telephone - I love to take pics and I love recording capabilities on my cell phones, so when I found that this nifty devide has a 2MP camera and an un-timed video recorder (both of which can be accessed with a dedicated button), I was very thrilled..It has full-fledged camera and video options, so you'd never need to carry a separate camera or video camera when you have this phone
3)MP3 Player - I already have a dedicated music player, but it is nice to have the option to load as much as 40-50 songs on this phone ( with its included 128MB micro-SD card).
4) Great battery management - You'd think with a gadget that boasts to be a phone, MP3 player, video and camera will die in few hours right...wrong..I have only charged it once (I love having my phone fully charged before I leave the house) and it is really good with its battery management ( definately squashed my last cell phone which boasted all the same features - Sony Ericsson K700i)
5) EXPANDIBLE - The phone only has around 24MB of memory, but with the included 128MB card, and the ability to upgrade the phone yourself and get a 2GB card, there is virtually no way to ever really run out of space
6) STEREO Bluetooth HEADSET anyone? - Ok...so I havent purchased it yet, but because this is a Music player phone and because it does have Bluetooth, you can buy a Bluetooth stereo headset so that you can jam to your music and be totally wireless...NiCE!!
7) Perfect for NON-FLIP Lovers - I have a thing for bar/candy bar phones...I never cared for flip phones, so this is a real treat for both the lovers of flip phones and those of us who still like the European-type non-flip phones...
ALSO, voice recordings & voice note-talking capabilites, JAVA-enabled, standard productivity suite (Calendar, Alarm, World clock), Instant Messaging ( if you are on the T-Mobile network), Ability to use your MP3s as your own ringtones...C..O..N..S......
1) What? No Infraread - Although I will miss having the IrDA technology, everything seems to be moving to a Bluetooth connectivity world, so I am not too sad about it.
2) No FM Tuner - I didnt really need this feature on a phone, but I did have it on my last cell phone and it was great to have. This phone's other features do make the lack of a FM tuner bareable though, so its all good.

I decided to upgrade from the Cingular Treo 650 to the unlocked 680. I read many reviews that said there just wasn't enough of a difference. I found that the extra user memory was indeed worth it for me. The much maligned VGA camera is also much better on the 680 than the 650. I couldn't believe the clarity of the pictures for a camera phone. It's not going to replace my Canon SD80, but for a camera phone it does the job. The colorful plastic case also feels much sturdier than the scratched up shiny case of 650.
I also must say that I had a problem with the responsiveness of the buttons on my six month old Treo 650 so I was encouraged to upgrade to something else. This was the only GSM Palm OS available. I just have too much invested in the Palm OS to switch to Windows. I have been a Palm user for years (Palm III, Palm IIIc, Handspring Visor, Tungsten T3, T|X, Treo 650, Treo 680). I was also able to take advantage of a "turn in your 650 for a discount" promotion, which sweetened the deal even more. I know that it is a dying OS and eventually I will have to switch, but as a Mac user, why would I want Windows on my PDA if I don't want it on my PC. The Palm OS has more software available than any other PDA/smartphone OS.
Overall I am ecstatic with the purchase.

Design Under the hood, the Treo 680 features Palm OS 5.4.9, 64MB of non-volatile flash memory available for user storage, and an Intel PXA270 312 MHz processor. Updated from the Treo 650, the 680 sports many improved and new phone/PDA features. The user can now see messages waiting in a preemptive alert window, and the favorites view is now in one vertical easy-to-see list. The length of the favorites list is only limited to available memory. A big dial pad can be formatted on the color touch screen, and the user does not need to go to another application to access the contact list; calling and contacts are all completely integrated. There's even an easy dialing prefix feature for when you're out of the country. Different country presets can be programmed into the 680 for true jet-setter world roaming and cell phone convenience. Lastly, easy access to recently visited applications can be achieved by holding down the launch key.
