(More customer reviews)The product works fine on Vista and the connection manager software (at&t communication manager) does not interfere with other software. Connection to the network is relatively smooth compared to CDMA (= Sprint).
However, I would like to see much more improvements regarding to the depth of 3G coverage of AT&T. As I did trials of Sprint, I have to say that the depth of coverage of 3G by At&T is not better than Sprint at present. They do cover the area they disclosed on their web site, but probably the no of base stations are relatively limited and the reception is very light in many areas although the weak 3G signal CAN be received. Economic situation is no good and the network investment can be easily reduced under the current condition, but we need to see stronger reception of 3G to justify the expensive monthly charge. Otherwise, the current EDGE network seems to be providing very similar network speed and capability. There is no strong economic reason to buy and pay expensive monthly fees for 3G service.

6. For that price ,you wont find a lot of phones giving these features.

1. LG has a app store, but this phone is conisdered as a non us phone. So people who buy it in US will not be able to make use of online LG app store. (This phone works perfectly fine whether you are US or not- its just the online site which we cant take advantage of)
2. Camera tough impressive in day light ,not really good for dim light, inspite of 8 MP and flash.
3. GPS is assisted GPS ,so you need wifi or 3g to use its GPS properly.
Its a good phone if you dont want to spent a lot of money on iphone.All we need basically is available in this phone like Internet,music,photo etc etc.It a good valu for money and happy with this. one more thing its sleek and cool from style perspective.

Sierra Wireless 595U EVDO USB Modem (Verizon Wireless, Card Only, No Service) Review

(More customer reviews)I live out in the country so there aren't a lot of options for me as far as high speed internet goes. Satellite...decent speeds hurt by latency. WISPs (none in my area). And finally, 3(.5)G service providers. After some mulling around I went with Verizon. Sprint wasn't offering their 3G service in my area. I've tried a couple of the other USB EVDO adapters namely the UM150 and the USB720. Originally I had my sights set on the 595U, but due to stocking at my local store I had to settle on the UM150, Great device with a useless (to me) SD card option. I ended up returning it to get the device I thought I wanted in the 595U. Note: Instead of a built in antenna this device uses a battery to boost the signal. To be fair, this device does consistently deliver lower ping times than the previous devices I've tried by 30-50 ms, only problem with that is now I experience an average of 25% packet loss. Closer to the tower I'm sure that this would be a superior device, but for my circumstances, I'll pass. Hope this helps you decide which direction to go.

Sierra Wireless AC595U EVDO USB Modem (Sprint) Review

(More customer reviews)I use this card in a fairly remote area of northern Idaho, with an unpowered external antenna (the small Wilson one) on Verizon's service. It works well, although not with 100% consistency (e.g., I just now got 139 kpbs down and 260 kbps up using Speakeasy's speed test, but normally the download number is significantly higher, but I can't tell if this variance is from Verizon or the card ... I'd guess Verizon.)
Despite what I consider excellent performance in a sub-standard service area, I dinged the rating from 5 stars for three reasons:
1.) The device itself is so flimsy and sticks out so far you really have to use it with the included cradle and extension cord, which is a pain to carry around and use compared to a PCMCIA card which you can plug in and forget about. But if you're already carrying around an external antenna, carrying the cradle's not really all that big of a deal, and this card is reputed to have more power than most PCMCIA cards and hence better performance when far from civilization. The cradle does allow you to move a few more feet from the external antenna if you're using one, which can be handy.
2.) There is no cheap solution for using this for a home network. There are only three options. First, you can buy a WiFi only box for $140 or so (CradlePoint makes two versions compatible with this card, but the one with Ethernet is uplink only.) Second, you can pony up $300 or more for a Top Global MB6800 router with 4 Ethernet points. Finally, you can dedicate a spare PC and use Internet Connection Sharing (at least on Windows.) None of them are great solutions, unless you have a fully WiFi network at home, in which case the CradlePoint solution should be fine.
3.) The modem requires a powered hub to recharge its internal battery ... not an issue if your laptop has enough USB connectors, but a problem otherwise, since it's yet another thing to carry around and find power for.
All in all, I'm happy with the performance but not happy that I can't use this for my existing home network without shelling out a lot more money to replace routers I already have that work fine.
Update May, 2008:
I purchased the Cradlepoint CTR-350 router. This router indeed works well with the modem and with my laptop and took all of a few minutes to set up with WPA security turned on. I'll post a review of the router after I have a bit more experience with the router (meaning I've made it work with my Wii or have given up trying!)

T-Mobile myTouch 3G Android Phone, White (T-Mobile) Review

(More customer reviews)I've been a Blackberry person for years and finally caved in and purchased this so I could finally have 3G (which put my non-3G Blackberry's to shame). T-Mo is a little behind the times and is now finally catching up with cool phones and more 3G, and this phone is a really good start to a future of great phones from them. I personally love it.
First of all, this phone is sleek. The styling is really nice and sexy. It could use a chrome band but that is just me being picky. Even the charger is cool (except the darn blue light is horrid at night--I had to put tape over it so I could sleep!).
Second, this phone is feature-rich and easy to use. Blackberries are a nightmare to do anything on (especially change the blasted ring-tones). This phone however, is a cinch to do everything. The menus are user friendly and simple.
This phone is fast. It does bog down at times but can be fixed with the free app "task killer free edition". Everything loads fast and runs smoothly. I downloaded about 7 things at once while listening to a song and playing a game. This phone is a pro at multi-tasking.
This phone is fun. I love the fact that Google Android allows ad's on their apps so the majority can be free. Some may hate the ad's but those people can buy the ad-less versions for a fee and those cheap people like myself will deal with the banner ad. It is brilliance. The app store is not as good at Apple's but is darn close. It definitely puts BB app store to shame. The beauty of the Android store is that you can buy an app, hate it and un-install it within 24 hours for a FULL refund!! WOW!
This phone is the best T-Mobile has, though not the best out there. It really is a good value too considering all the great apps and the fact that TMO has low prices in comparison to ATT and VZ. Make sure to purchase this phone WITHOUT a contract and pay for monthly installments on the phone with the even more plus plans. It will pay for itself in the 14th month and begin to save you $20 per month after that because the even more plus plans are much cheaper than the even more ones.

Again, Even More Plus plans are $20 for the internet and $10 less for each anytime minutes tier, Even more are $30 and $10 MORE. You will save $20 per month by not signing a contract and paying full price for the phone by signing up for even more PLUS plans. Do your calculations and realize it will be cheaper to pay full price in the long run and begin to save you hundreds (they even have a monthly installment plan for their phones). GOOD LUCK ON PHONE SHOPPING!!

The speed of the Rev A network even with a relatively weak signal is very fast and rivals wifi connections. If you're sick of paying for wifi access fees and want something that works just about anywhere in every computer you own, look no further.
In fact latency times are so low that I can use remote desktop and other applications that require a fast response time. It's just as fast as its PC card equivalent and gives you the flexibility to use it on any PC.
The best part of the entire deal for me is the Mac compatibility. It works great on my Mac Book (even in Leopard) and was a breeze to install.

Shipped faster than I though way faster, the blackberry was amazing not one scratch on screen in perfect work condition it came just like a new one would with the setup wizard and all the good stuff. Andrew is a seller like no other he is a helpful guy and whenever I called him the would always answer and help me with what ever I needed help with, he is a reliable and a smart business man. He also include a smart charger which helps your battery alot for 55 bucks a like brand new blackberry you really can't beat the deal I promise you this guy is one of a kind. My sister will be buying from him once she gets her money, for her birthday.

Fun to play Fifa on it... visit n81 blogs for more... dont pay extra for brown color.. it is hardly visible.. the black face plate is stunning...battery life is good too.. needs charging after 3-4 days of use...

(More customer reviews)I like most of the things about this phone- it has long battery life, and takes great pictures and videos (especially if you add the micro Memory stick card for more memory), and has good sound (for a phone). But a MAJOR flaw in this phone is the ridiculous two-pronged, multiple-(12?-)contact connector. This same connector type is used for the USB connection cable, the car charger, the headphones, and the wall charger. I guess this way they don't need separate connectors for chargers vs. USB vs. headphones. Each connector activates different combinations of the 10 or 12 metal contacts on the phone (receiving) side of the connector. But the connectors are not very robust and in fact wear out in a matter of months so that to get a good connection to the phone's metal contacts you have to squeeze the connector and hold it a certain angle without moving and practically stand on your head. I called SonyEricsson to inform and complain but they basically don't care. They assume that the user has damaged the equipment, and if it's out of warranty they take no responsibility. Too bad they take such little interest in customer support, because other than the connector design it's a nice phone. But it's not much use if you can't even charge it up. I would be very hesitant to buy any SonyEricsson phone with this kind of connector. They should go back to standard plug-in connectors that will more easily and reliably make the appropriate contacts for the functiosn needed. In fact, a standard mini-plug contact for the headphones would be much handier instead of having to buy the special headphone accessory with the lame connector. Instead of one multi-function connector you'd need three- a power connector, a headset connector and a USB connector, but better 3 connectors that work easily than one that doesn't.

Good:-
1. Lightweight phone, comfortable to carry and hold in my hand - I give a PLUS ONE STAR! I detest a large and bulky phone.
2. A 3.5 jack for standard earphones! Reason that I bought this phone - I give a PLUS ONE STAR!
3. Touchscreen works great - I give a PLUS ONE STAR!
4. Easy to connect to Wi-Fi - I give a PLUS ONE STAR!
5. Internet browser is easy to zoom into, just press your finger down to enlarge the screen - I give a PLUS ONE STAR!
6. Unlocked and NO CONTRACT (I use home WiFi and local WiFi hotspots for Internet browsing) saves me money - I give a PLUS ONE and a HALF STARS!
7. Accepts up to 16gb SD Card - I give a PLUS ONE STAR!
8. FM radio and the radio records music - I give a PLUS ONE STAR!
9. Low cost smart phone compared to other smart phones with these features.
10. LONG BATTERY LIFE--I get 4 days as I turn off WiFi when I am not using Internet!
Bad:-
1. No QWERTY Keyboard. (After practicing the keyboard is easy to use and I am getting more and more used to it).A MINUS ONE STAR FOR THIS!
2. Samsung's own proprietary operating system- I prefer Windows OS or Android, this OS on this phone is so different! A MINUS ONE STAR FOR THIS!
3. Because this phone is unlocked there are NO Internet or MMS settings (picture and multimedia messaging) and must be placed into the phone MANUALLY. It took me over 3 hours to find the settings in forums and type each setting into the phone, however, I was able to set up the phone for both MMS and Internet. The WiFi set up in just one minute with no problem, however! A MINUS ONE STAR FOR THIS!
4. Setting up email accounts is very tricky, but can be done, however, I had to research on the internet the POP3 and IMAP settings and try several times to get this to work. A MINUS ONE STAR FOR THIS!
****Total Stars I Give To This Phone: 5 STARS because of all the pros and long battery life.
FINAL NOTE: First, if you just use WiFi and DO NOT USE A DATA PLAN from your carrier or send/receive picture messages (just send and receive text messages), this phone is easy to set up right out of the box! However, if you do need a data plan with your carrier and love to send video, pictures, audio (MMS) messages, then you will need to manually place the settings for DATA INTERNET (so you can use your carrier's Internet when not on WiFi) and MMS. However, if you want to set up these settings and you are not a tech savvy person or don't want the hassle of manually doing these settings, I would suggest that this phone should be a NO GO for you. By the way, if this helps, I use T-Mobile and went to the T-Mobile forums on how to set-up a NON T-MOBILE phone for MMS and INTERNET and found the settings there. I had to try THREE times to get it just right on both, but now the INTERNET and MMS work great on my phone. If you need the settings for AT&T, there are probably forums on their website as well. Also, you can also call either carrier and sometimes they can send you the settings to your phone to get the INTERNET and MMS. Remember anytime you buy ANY kind of unlocked phone, it will need the INTERNET and MMS Settings put in manually or have the carrier send BOTH settings to your phone.

(More customer reviews)At first glance, the Prada phone looks like a great buy. Slide out keyboard and responsive touch screen. The interface is really pretty and for a user who doesn't customize their phone much, it probably works ok. It's in the details though that has me tearing my hair out and trying to resell it on ebay.
1) As far as I can tell, the contacts don't import automatically from Microsoft Outlook. You have to go through some *.csv conversion which is a pain. **Anyone know differently, please let me know via this forum!**
2) User interface is not stable, it's rebooted on me at least 5x in the past month when I'm doing random simple things like making a phone call.
3) They like their sounds too much and I can't figure out how to turn them off in normal mode! (i.e. sliding the keyboard in/out has a ringtone, which when you're trying to discreetly text, and you don't want your phone in silent mode, at dinner/meeting is impossible!)
4) The battery runs down relatively fast compared to my old Nokia n95, or maybe I'm just in bad reception areas a lot which impact my battery life?
I would assume a lot of these *features* would be fixed via software upgrade but I don't plan to wait around.

Verizon Wireless UM 150 USB Modem (Verizon Wireless, Card Only, No Service) Review

(More customer reviews)At first I thought this device looked flimsy, but I have to say after a couple of months it's a lot tougher than it looks. Depending on where your USB port is located, it might be safer with some laptops than others. On mine it's located on the right side, near the ENTER key. Needless to say, I've knocked into it from every possible direction, but the modem just pivots in any direction and doesn't break off. That was certainly well thought out!
The card folds up flat, but when you use it, the USB connector piece folds out at a 90 degree angle and plugs into your port. There is also an antenna (approx two inches) that you can extend from the top for better signal. I bought the optional booster antenna, too, but have never needed it.
There are blue dots on the flat side facing the computer that indicate signal strength. The bottom dot always flashes if the unit is plugged in and working. The piece with the signal indicator slides down to cover the USB connector when not in use, but sliding it up and down also resets the unit like turning it off and on.
I'm very happy with the UM150. It's well constructed and well designed. It makes traveling with my laptop a breeze. I love the freedom of being able to work with my laptop all over the house, out in the yard, in the car while waiting to pick up family members, or when I'm on the road.
The modem comes with a software disc. For some reason my installation wasn't smooth, so I had to call customer service. Verizon wireless has domestic tech support, which I appreciated no end. He helped me reset a few things and it was working in 5 minutes.
One caution - if you ever get a prompt to update the software on this, don't do it! There are several steps you need to go through, including deleting the old software, downloading the new software from an authorized website, etc. Call Verizon's tech support and they will walk you through it all in just a few minutes.
The monthly fee is $59.99 for virtually unlimited access; 5G a month should be plenty for browsing and email. Tack on about another $20/month to your bill just for the taxes and junk fees. My monthly phone bill, with another carrier, suffers from the same type of surcharge inflation.Maybe it's pricey, but I get a lot more use out of this than cable TV!
Highly recommended!

Designed to work with any computing device equipped with a USB slot, the Verizon Wireless UM150 modem gives you on-the-go broadband access to Verizon's high-speed 1x/EVâ€"DO network--providing speeds and performance similar to those of traditional cable or DSL connections. It supports both Windows and Mac PCs, and it also offers a MicroSD slot for added storage from optional memory cards. The UM150 comes equipped with a highâ€"performance, retractable antenna and a Yâ€"shaped extension cable for added performance and convenience.
Designed to be as durable as it is small, the UM150 combines a variety of innovative features into its tiny form factor, including a high-performance, retractable antenna and a Y-shaped extension cable for added performance and convenience. In addition, the UM150 serves as a mass storage device with its built-in MicroSD memory slot, which has a capacity of up to 4 GB. VZAccess Manager Software is included to simplify set-up and navigation through the UM150's features.
The UM150 modem is optimized for Verizon Wireless' Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Revolution A (Rev. A) network and the company's BroadbandAccess service, which provides average download speeds of 600 kilobits per second (kbps) to 1.4 megabits and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps. When connecting within a Rev. A coverage area, the UM150 can download a 1 MB email attachment in about eight seconds and upload the same-sized file in less than 13 seconds.
The UM150 is compatible with both Verizon's BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess services. BroadbandAccess is available in 248 major metropolitan areas covering over 240 million people, and is expanding coast to coast. BroadbandAccess is also available in 232 primary airports in the U.S. Verizon Wireless NationalAccess is available in thousands of cities and towns across the U.S. Outside the Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess coverage area, BroadbandAccess users will still have access to their data with Verizon Wireless' NationalAccess service, which provides connectivity at speeds bursting up to 144 kbps.

(More customer reviews)I got this phone to replace a malfunctioning Verizon Blitz. I absolutely love it! The swivel function is pretty nifty. I am a big fan of the tilted keyboard, it makes typing easy and comfortable. While the buttons are small, they are raised for convenient texting. The music player is fantastic and easy to use. I'm too cheap to pay for a data plan, so I am so happy to have a Verizon phone that I can play music on without having VCAST. It has a slick, modern look and is about the same size as an iPhone. I cannot speak highly enough about this phone. Best value ever!!! The only con for the phone is the 2.5mm headphone jack. You need to have an adapter (2.5-3.5mm) to be able to listen to music with your normal headphones. Other than that, if you don't care about apps and checking your email, this is the phone for you!

(More customer reviews)I bought this phone to replace my wife's cell phone and it has worked very well. It is solidly constructed and has already survived a fall! I just popped the SIM card out of her old blackberry and popped it in this phone. The one caveat is that I can't seem to find a way to turn off the 3G radio on the phone (my wife doesn't have a data plan), so be careful about not using any data if you don't have a plan.
