However,if you are not a technical person and are not comfortable with computers and other electronic devices you will probably want to spend the extra money and get an iPhone. As pointed out in other reviews the users manual is disappointing to say the least but this can be overcome by accessing the CECT i9 Forum[...] Through this page I have been able to learn how to use all of the features of my phone and upgrade the phones internet browser and take advantage of all of the phones features. It took me about 2.5 hours to get everything figured out initially but if I had not been able to access the i9 forum I would have been much more disappointed with this phone and would still not have figured out many of the features. The internet browser that comes with the phone is horrendous and if I did not have the i9 Forum to turn to it for assistance in upgrading the browser to Opera Mini and set the WAP settings for the internet I would not have been able to get internet service which would have resulted in me rating this phone as a one or two star purchase. Overall I thought that the phone was constructed in a satisfactory manner. The camera is very easy to use and takes decent photos. The phone reception has been excellent and the video and audio players have worked well. Remove the back cover is a little difficult initially but if you lay the phone face down and press and push the cover down it comes off easily. This phone is not for everyone but if you are willing to use the online forum as your guide you should be happy with your purchase.

(More customer reviews)If there's any such thing as the perfect cell phone, I have yet to find it. Each one I've had has come with it's own set of strengths and weaknesses. Overall this is a cool little phone, and it's by far my favorite of those that I've had... but there are a couple of things I want to put out there that I myself might have appreciated knowing in advance:1) It's only Mac compatible IF you're running windows on your mac.
2) There is a significant delay in the exposure. From the time you click, there is roughly a 1-1 1/4 second or so delay during which you are blind. I can't believe I'm being so picky regarding a cell phone camera, but the reality is that this delay makes it much harder for me to capture the images I want. It might not sound like much, but trust me: you'll notice. A lot changes in a second, especially if you're photographing people. I suppose it might not concern me so much, were not the phone capable of some impressive picture quality.
3) I know I said a couple things, but while I'm on the subject of pictures, I'll also mention the seemingly random order in which the phone stores them. It's a little frustrating when you're trying to locate a specific photo, particularly one you just took, and you can't figure out in what order it's been stored.

(More customer reviews)Our contract was up (fiance and I) and I got this phone, she got the Sony w580i. I am not a power user (don't use 3G or internet),I use the phone for 3 basic functions: make calls, listen to music, and sync up to outlook calendar. I had a Razr before this phone.
Things I like: Music Player: I have a 2 gig microSD card and some bluetooth stereo headphones. The trade-off here is sound quality vs. no wires. The quality isn't as good as a dedicated mp3 player with wired headphones but I need to be mobile for my job so I'll take the wireless.
Camera: Compared to the Razr I had (no megapixel) its great.
Things I don't like: Compared to my fiance's Sony, online support sucks. I had to search and search for some sort of phone-computer sync program. There isn't one specific for this phone. I found one for a different one and it worked. Sony has a great website with all kinds of games, etc.
The main reason I wanted to sync was the Outlook Calendar. Unfortunately, there is a character limit to what the phone can hold and its not very much. Messages get cut off and the message itself scrolls really slowly. There is probably a way to scroll faster but I haven't found out how.
On the Razr it was really easy to make a song a ringtone. With the Samsung you have to create some sort of group and then assign a song. It's too much of a hastle and I haven't done it yet.
With this phone, you have to buy a USB cable (Ebay, $5). With the Sony it comes with this and you get headphones also.
I didn't get the Sony because I thought it was too flashy, but I would probably get it instead now. This phone wins out on 3G (if you need it) though, and it doesn't have expensive proprietary flash memory. Its not a bad phone, but for the features I use, it's not a great phone.

Motorola KRZR K1 Silver Phone (T-Mobile) Review

(More customer reviews)I'm very disappointed in this phone for a couple of very serious usability issues - you can't tell if this phone is on or off - the outside window is really worthless. The outside glass is so shiny, whenever the backlight is off you can't see anything in the window. Do you use your phone to tell the time - too bad, can't see it. Want to see signal strength - sorry, can't see it. Want to see anything in the window in outdoor light, sorry. It really is pretty worthless.
Camera is OK, not great. Performance seems good. Features are ok, although I miss being able to program top level top keys - they are always Shortcuts and Menus.
Size is very nice, fits great in hand when calling. Keypad is really pretty good for texting. The predictive text input is better than earlier Motorola phones.
The problem is that with all the choices T-Mobile has right now, I'm not sure there is a much better phone. The RIZR has many of the same issues as the KRZR - external display pretty worthless with the backlight off. None of the Samsungs seem to get very good reviews. Nokia 6133 is ok, but seems a bit flimsy.
So, I'll live with this for the next two years, but I'll certainly miss being able to check signal and time at a quick glance.
UPDATE: I've had this phone for six months now, and I feel a little better about it. I still really hate the fact that the front screen is worthless, but the phone has held up really well, and the keyboard is pretty easy to text with. A hint: get screen protectors. This really solves the fingerprint problem you can read about in other reviews.

Samsung M620 UpStage Red Phone (Sprint) Review

(More customer reviews)Pros: It's beautiful. It's compact. It's sturdy. It works well as a phone. Reception is good. Voice-dialing works great. I can check my gmail at a click of a button. I can look up my google calendar the same way. (After simple programming) MP3 player works well. The sounds are great. I like multimedia aspect of the phone, too. "Flipping" can be annoying, but considering that it is not a PDA phone but works just as well, it is a minor inconvenience that one can easily put up with. Takes decent pictures. If you are a thoughtful photographer, you can end up with some frame-able shots. Video quality is not all that great, but I like it that it automatically creates a quick time file that I can easily send to both Mac and PC users and they have no problem downloading and viewing them. After all, no one really intends on shooting an award winning film with phone camcorder, right?
Cons: MP3 Player song list is not as intuitive as iPod. If you have 500 songs and the song you want to listen to is song number 400, you have to go from the top all the way to 400. Get the picture? Flipping can be annoying, but as mentioned above, you can get used to it. There is a big learning curve on understanding all the functions and characteristics of the phone. You start out excited, because the phone is beautiful and seems promising. Then you get frustrated very fast by the "sensitivity" of the multimedia buttons and the constant flipping. And then you fall in love with it all over again as you get used to the phone, because it has a lot to offer. Love hate. Comes only with 64meg memory. Good thing is that you can expand it by getting a 1 gig or even 2 gig memory card. I have 2 gigs and I love it. The extended battery is good to have, but sometimes it's cumbersome to carry your phone in it. It's a beautiful phone, wouldn't you want to show it off? But the extended battery does come handy at times, so it's like, you want it and then you don't want it. You debate where to put the extended battery if you take your phone off it.
Bottom line: I wanted to return this phone many times. It's been 3 weeks. I am still debating. It has a lot of good things to offer, but it also has its quirks and problems. If you want something that comes close to a PDA without the bulk, if you want something like an iPhone, but not yet ready to buy an iPhone like me, this is a good one to get. I most likely will keep it, but I know that it will be a constant love/hate thing. It sure is a beautiful gadget, though.

The very first thing I worry is scratching the screen like my iPod Nano. Surprisingly, the screen is scratch free after months of putting and pulling out of my jeans. The phone is small and light in weight but felt very solid.
This phone is not easy to use. The number keys are really big and easy to press. However, they have to make the navigation keys very small to make the number keys big. The navigation keys are too small to use. I need to hold the phone with my left hand and use my finger nail of my right hand to press the navigation keys. Plus I cannot flip the phone open with one hand. It cannot be used with just one hand like the other candy bar phones. The W350 is really a flip phone; not a candy bar phone.
Sound quality is as good as any other Sony Ericsson. The speakerphone is loud. The screen is very clear to see even under direct sunlight. The ringer is really loud. That is good.
Compared to my W810i, the W350 really lacks of many useful functions.
The W350 does not have Voice Command. This is very bad without VC because the W350 is too small to use while driving.
The W350 has a really lousy camera. No video. No flashlight. I love the flashlight from my W810.
This is really a flip phone. There is no Voice Command. So, I cannot use the bluetooth to dial anything. I have to flip it open (with two hands. I can't flip it open with one hand) and punch the numbers before I can make any call. The worst part is that after I dial the number, I cannot close the flap right away. If I close the flap before it is ringing, the phone will hang up the call. This is not safe to use the W350 while driving.
The Walkman Player is not easy to use. I can move from menu 1 to menu 2 and menu 3 up to the playlist to play the song. Once I get to the playlist, I cannot go back to menu 3 or menu 2 or menu 1. There is no back function. I can use the forward function to go back to menu 1. But once I am in menu 1, I cannot go back to the current playlist anymore. I have to wait for the phone to go to standby. When I press a key to wake up the phone, it then will come back to the current playlist. Another thing is that I cannot select an entire album to put in the playlist. I have to select song by song. It is just so confusing to use. So, keep your iPod.
The W350 doesn't come with any accessory either. No memory card, no headphone. no car charger. no CD. no nothing. My W810i comes with all of these except the memory card.
To sum it up, the W350 is a just a ok phone.

(More customer reviews)I completely disagree with other reviewer. Once you learn the basic functions of this phone, its as intuitive as any other gadget. And the term intuitive, at least to me, is based on what each person determines it is. Anyways, one of my favorite features of my phone is this has 3 home screens which you can place different widgets on, and scroll to them when you wish. On the main page I have time and date, my secondary I have alarm, music player, and phone mode, and third one I have my fm radio dialer, facebook, and birthday widget. The screen is gorgeous and the colors rival my ipod touch. The camera takes good pictures, and so-so video, but then again I rarely use it for that anyways. You can save either to the phone or the the micro SD card. Another great feature is that while typing text, when you turn it sideways, it automatically changes to a horizontal qwerty keyboard.
There are other great things about this phone, and all-in-all, a very good deal for the cost. Any web capable-video and photo camera-a wide variety of widgets-you'd be hard pressed to find a comparable deal for what this one sells for. A strong competitor if you ask me.

It's very easy to use and convenient after that. when other people ask to borrow you're phone, they will tend to fumble alot and to you, you would wonder what's so hard about it. There are also many little ways where you can personalize your phone which comes in useful. The music player is very good aswell. The quality is as good as a regular mp3 player. The accompanying headphones are also good. There ids also a convenient button on the side to get directly to the music player. If your phone is your sole mp3 player and you like to take multiple photos and videos, then you may need more memory than the 80MB installed. No fear, there is a micro SD memory card slot installed. For those who may just need a few mp3 ringtones and snapshots and videos (which you will transfer and delete after) 80MB is enough.

The biggest issue is that you cannot send text messages to people who are on Verizon or on t-Mobile. For some reason text messages are never received by people on those networks. Sprint is aware of this problem, but have no resolution in the near future. You are able to receive text messages from them however.

A lot of folks said it would never happen, but here it is: A Palm device running Windows Mobile software. This isn't just any device, either. It's the latest version of Palm's wildly popular Treo series of Smartphones. Everything that's great about the Treo hardware is here, plus all the power of Windows Mobile 5.0.
With the Treo 700wx, you can experience broadband-like download speeds using Sprint's EV-DO technology.Simply put, everything you need to do your work on the move, and at blazing speeds, has arrived.
Design Under the hood, the Treo 700wx features 128MB of RAM (60MB available for end user storage) and an Intel XScale 312MHz processor. The design retains the same basic form factor as the Treo 650 with a few changes. Aesthetically, the new Treo has more angular lines and a more professional-looking gray color. At 6 ounces, it's also slightly lighter than its predecessor. The button layout above the full QWERTY keyboard has been changed to accommodate the Windows Mobile 5.0 interface, and the screen sports 240 x 240 resolution.
Like the Treo 650, the top of the 700wx features an expansion card slot for SD, SDIO, and MMC memory and expansion cards, and get this: Unlike the 650, the 700wx supports the Palm Wi-Fi card. Up top there's also an infrared port for line of sight data transfers, as well as a handy switch for turning off the phone's ringer. Below the screen, a five-way navigator controls most of the phone's menus and operating system functions. The left side of the unit features a volume up/down toggle plus a handy user-customizable button that can be assigned to any phone or PDA function. The rear of the unit houses a loudspeaker, as well as the 1.3 megapixel camera unit. A touchscreen stylus can be tucked away on the right side of the phone. Meanwhile, a combined charging, data, and accessory attachment port, called the Palm "multi-connector" is housed on the bottom of the unit, as is a standard 2.5 mm stereo headset jack.
Calling and PDA FeaturesLike the Treo 650, the Treo 700wx's phone and PDA functions are designed to provide an integrated, seamless experience--only this time it's all handled by Windows Mobile software. The hallmark of the Windows Mobile experience is the "Today" screen that summarizes all the important information you need to make it through the day. Here you'll get message notification, upcoming appointments, dialing functions, and a Google Web searching all in one spot.
As a phone, the Treo 700wx features all the functionality folks expect from a handset, including a handsfree speakerphone, polyphonic ringtones (polyphonic MIDI, MP3, WAV and video ringtones are supported), a vibrate mode, and picture caller ID. *Some of my con's are quiet specific to things that I usually want/need in a phone, and didn't realized until after I had received the phone. Its still a good phone, but I would be happier if it had some improvements.
-Camera doesn't have a flash.
-Glitches in photo program. If you select pictures to save to your phone (either via online albums or pictures sent) it may save the photos you didn't want, or will just save the first photo 3 times, instead of the 3 different photos you selected.
-QWERTY key pad should have a button for the period, you need to "shift" then hit the period.
-The typing software can use some improvement, such as predicting words and such. The feature is there but lacks accuracy.
-Screen needs better resolution & colors. currently 176x220 pixel resolution.
-*Can't use own music (on SD card) as ringtones,
-*Difficult/can't use own pictures (from SD card) as the background/screen-saver.. I still can't figure it out.
-*Short cut navigation key for some reason the category "My content" doesn't let you make a shortcut for the sections within it. I want a shortcut key to Google maps, which is within 'my content', but it doesn't allow it, the best it will do is let you shortcut to 'my content' and then you have to scroll from there which is kinda annoying..
-*The idle/key lock screen is always the black screen with the time that you can't change.
-*There isn't a flashing light to tell you of a missed alert, until you click on a button and see the black/keylock screen. Else the phone just looks like its sleeping, so you have to consistently click on the buttons to see if you've missed any alerts. Pictures you take with the phone look pretty well (granted you have the prefect lighting) on the computer, but everything on its low resolution screen makes photos seemed washed out and blurry.

(More customer reviews)A somewhat upgrade to the existing w810i, this slider phone will either impress you or make you want to hold on to your existing w810i a little longer.
The w850i is a 3G quadband handset with a micro camera in front (VGA) like the k800 for video calls. The graphic user interface is pretty standard Sony Ericsson with the higher resolution screen at 320x240, again like the K800. There's also the two photo shortcut keys just on top of the display screen for accessing the photo album like the k800. The joypad is something like w810i although it feels a bit stiff and irresponsive sometimes as it sinks into the unit.
The sound quality of the music player is no better than the w810i with the same equalizer and playback options, but the annoying clicking and popping noise between tracks has finally been reduced. There's also a few new gimmicks like "light effects" where the walkman light flashes according to the music being played.
Standby screen is an option with the w850 (unlike the w810i that just goes completely dark after a few seconds of inactivity and stays that way), so you can tell the time, the profile in use and if there's any pending messages without having to touch any keys on the phone while it's on standby.
The only thing missing from the w850 is a good camera. Although the manufacturer claims the w850 to have a 2 Megapixel CCD, the images the handset can produce is really poor by Sony Ericsson standards. They are oversaturated and noisy, with severe compression artifacts. The auto focus feature found on the k750, k800, w800 and w810i is also nowhere to be found. The macro mode is missing from the w850 as well. With just a single LED flash (k750, w800 and w810 has two LEDs while the k800 has a xenon flash), the camera is only capable of taking bright, daylight group and scenic pictures. Close-ups and portraits will most likely be out of focus. The add-on flash MXE-60 works with the w850, so if you own a unit, try not to sell it off with your k750/w800/w810 as it makes the w850 pictures look so much better.
Thankfully the w850 still accepts the trusty Memory Stick Duo, and it is bundled with a generously sized 1G stick. It works well with my 2GB memory stick, and I suspect it should work well too with a 4G memory stick (and hopefully the upcoming 8GB memory stick).
Had the imaging capabilities of the k800 (3.2 MP with AF assist light and Xenon flash) been incorporated into the w850, this handset would have been a perfect upgrade for the w810i.

You can use it with your regular headphones which is really nice and the buttons on the outside make it really easy to play music. It's pretty tiny, which is something I like in my phones.
Disadvantages: It really picks up every little noise on my end, so if I'm trying to do something while talking on the phone, people have a hard time hearing me. Also at home I don't get very good service, and my boyfriend who also has T-Mobile (but has a W490) usually gets a better signal on his phone.

(More customer reviews)I travel frequently back to the UK so this phone works great for me. It is quad-band and GSM phone which means it has a removable sim card that I can use a pay as you go sim card when I go back to the UK, and then switch it back while back in the US. Unfortunately your limited to AT&T or T-Mobile in the US as the other carriers don't use GSM phones, not sure why?. The phone itself which I bought in the UK has an adapter for 110/220v for charging in other countries which is a nice touch from LG (I once fried a US adapter by plugging it into a UK socket, duh!). It comes with a screen protector and the casing feels nice and not too cheap. The touch screen itself is bright and easy to navigate and the inclusion of a stylus that fits in the base of the phone makes it very handy when texting. The phone houses a slot for a micro SD card up to 8gb, which is ample for mp3's and photo's or video's. I don't like that you have to use the supplied headphones in order to listen to music as they aren't that good and would have preferred the ability to use third party phones.
Camera quality isn't that great, but like most phone cameras the quality is grainy, I only use it rarely as I have a good quality digital camera for that. Overall it's a great little phone that is considerably cheaper and less bulkier than the i phone. And if you need accessories then eBay is the place to go, I picked up a great leather case that fits perfectly, and a car charger. I have had the phone now for 7 months and am pleased with it so far.
Update: I recently flashed the phones firmware to the latest version which is V10n and the phone is so much better.
The touch screen works a lot better than before and the slide bar can now be used without having to press hard.
The firmware install is a little tricky and can only be done on a windows operating system, but is well worth the time as the phone's performance is so much better. Do a search for KP 500 firmware v10n update.

The volume from the ear piece is not the quality I have come to expect from original accessories. The sound of the mic according to my wife is distant. Again not the quality of an original in my opinion. I have browsed the inside of the phone. I am a long time motorolla user so it was very familiar. I have a plantronics bluetooth in the US and when I get home I will try it with the phone.

Thin is definitely in. At just over a half-inch thick, the Motorola RAZR V3 is the perfect combination of sleek design and powerful features. With long-range Bluetooth, support for video playback, a VGA (640 x 480) camera, a full-color screen, and quad-band capability, the RAZR V3 is everything you're looking for in a stylish mobile companion.
DesignThe RAZR V3's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, anodized aluminum construction. The first thing you'll notice when you flip open the handset is its impressive, 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors.
