Most chargers I try to use with this phone -- EVEN MOTOROLA CHARGERS -- give an "Unauthorized Charger Error". This is a great reason to never buy a Motorola phone. This is a BIG problem with Motorola phones. Have almost no such issues with other brands.

Motorola RAZR V3 Prepaid Phone (T-Mobile) Review

Motorola RAZR V3 Prepaid Phone (T-Mobile)
Average Reviews:

I just received this phone about 5 days ago and it's everything I hoped it would be. I was delighted that a prepaid phone could be this nice. It's sleek and feels good in my hand. I had a T-mobile Motorola V195 prepaid phone before receiving this one, so I just pulled the SIM card from my old phone and placed it in this one and called T-Mobile to register this phone with my account. The camera works great! The sound is clear and the screen is very large and colorful. I am so glad I bought this phone. Just beautiful!

Motorola RAZR V3 Unlocked Phone with Camera, and Video Player--U.S. Version with Warranty (Black) Review

Motorola RAZR V3 Unlocked Phone with Camera, and Video Player--U.S. Version with Warranty (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my first review ever. This is also the first time I have ever ordered something from Amazon that was not what I expected.
The phone does work. It was also new, as stated. Works fine. This does not appear to be a US version though.
1.) The included manual has a table of contents going up to page 100+... The last page of the manual cuts off at page 80-something. It also says in the back to contact Motorola-Asia for assistance. Not a deal breaker, but this may indicate the level of detail of the seller.
2.) I say this does not appear to be a US version because I have two (2) used U.S. Razr v3's in my briefcase right now and this is just not quite the same. This seems it might be a U.K. version.
My 2 previously purchased US versions do NOT have the extra button above the wheel/pad. This seems to be the only visual distinction...which results in...
No such things as "missed calls" on this phone. It is classified as a Received Call, but either has a "check" or "no check" next to the entry seemingly indicative of it being a missed call or not.
Speed dial assignments (1 though 9) are 4 digit values (1001 through 1009).
Cannot lock Smart Key on phone exterior.
No light illuminated when charging.
"Center" is spelled "Centre"
Installed graphics are not even remotely the same.
Doesn't seem that time will auto-set.
Doesn't even use the same battery part # as my 2 other U.S.-purchased phones.
That is why I do not believe this to be a U.S. Version phone as stated.
I am not very happy about this. I am going to seek to get this resolved. This is why I purchased this from Amazon because I believe they will make this right.
End

Motorola RAZR V3 Unlocked Phone with Camera, and Video Player--International Version with No Warranty (Black) Review

Motorola RAZR V3 Unlocked Phone with Camera, and Video Player--International Version with No Warranty (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Black RAZR V3 is the wireless phone I have always wanted. It's that simple.
Before having bought mine, I would read commentary from people who would cite all of the features the RAZR doesn't have: "I could buy the (insert model number of cheaper, but still expensive phone which does 100 different things--all of them poorly) and get more for a lot less money." When I would research a model recommended by these self-proclaimed gadget freaks, I'd find that it's dimensions make keeping it in a pocket an awkward and uncomfortable proposition; I'd find that the pictures it takes are not nearly of comparable quality to those taken by even a modest digital camera; I'd find that the lo-res video it can shoot serves no practical purpose; I'd find that web-browsing, game-playing, Instant messaging, streaming television content, all suck up battery-life and ultimately make the device useless for the unlikely purpose of placing and taking phone calls; I'd find that the phone casing is composed of cheap and flimsy plastics which make me wonder how long it wll last; I'd find that little attention had been paid to how the phone's design will contribute to, or detract from, user comfort. After my investigation, I concluded that for all the money I would save by buying "Phone X" over buying a RAZR, I would still have paid hundreds too much for a filmsy hunk of cutting-edge technojunk. (Don't take my word for it. Look around on the Net for comments about the RAZR around the time of its inroduction and see the recommendations from consumers that people choose the Motorola V600 instead. Then look at the consumer reviews of the V600 on this site.)
The RAZR has a camera, a web-browser, Instant messaging capability, and a whole array of other features all of which are listed in the product description. To the extent that the RAZR does these things adequately I will offer little, if any, comment--mainly because I don't care about them. That to which I can and will attest is that the RAZR exceeds my expectation on how it serves AS A PHONE.
Using my own criteria, a wireless phone should draw and hold a signal; It's earpiece should deliver clear sound at a volume which can compete with background noise; it's mouthpiece should pick up the users voice clearly; it should be compact enough to allow for placement in clothing pockets without creating prominent bulges; it should be solidly built out of durable materials which are not prone to scratching; it should have decent battery life. And yes, anything for which I pay hundreds of dollars should be designed with aesthetics in mind: there are far too many wireless phones which look like disposable children's toys, or like awkward, all-purpose, button-riddled gadgets.
Using the above criteria, the RAZR V3, particularly the Black model, is close to perfect. The sound from the ear piece could certainly be louder, but I have yet to have a caller's voice drowned out by the noise of busy New York City streets. The people to whom I'm speaking have reported to have heard my voice loudly and clearly. Battery life could be longer, but then, the same could be said about many wireless phones which are bulkier and have larger batteries. I have used the phone on both T-Mobile and Cingular networks and found that it draws a strong signal on both; it has never dropped a call. I found the speaker phone to be loud and clear despite my expectations to the contrary. Is the much-lamented Motorola phone book program clunky? Yes it is. But the RAZR's voice-dialing works well, making it possible to avoid scrolling through the phone book if one hates it that much.
I'll try to boil it down with a somewhat clumsy analogy: Complaining that the RAZR doesn't do enough in the way of tech-gimmicks to justify its price (which is considerably lower that it was when it was introduced) is like complaining that an exotic sports car isn't worth the money because it doesn't have a cup holder, a GPS system, and DVD player like the Minivan you've been looking to buy. That ridiculousness ignores the engineering that makes the sports car a superior performer on the road, and the attention put toward making it sleek and aesthetically pleasing. The RAZR's performance has made concern over signal strength a thing of the past. and its design is unmatched--not just for it's ultra-compactness, but for the solidity of it's build. That makes it worth what I paid for it. And my inability to speak to the quality of other phones on the market put them out of consideration.
Besides, as they say, black is beautiful.
That the RAZR cannot serve as a business-card scanner doesn't trouble me. For those who need to have whichever feature-laden mobile gadget is most desired at the moment, buy a Samsung MM-A800, clip it on you belt (you'll need to), and earn yourself the right to say your phone can do just about everything--poorly.

The Moto Razr V3 is expertly crafted to deliver exceptional performance. Inside the ultra-thin design are advanced features like MPEG4 video playback, Bluetooth wireless technology, a digital camera and more. And with the precision-cut keypad, minimalist styling and metal finish, the V3 looks just as beautiful as it performs. The real difference is in the details. See who's calling, in color, without opening your phone — the large internal display is complemented by an impressive external display. The precision-cut metal keypad reacts to the lightest of touches. And the features you can't always see are equally impressive, like quad-band GSM — for global calls where GSM network coverage and roaming agreements are present.

I have had this phone for 4 years now, and have had no technical difficulties of any kind. The only reason why I am getting a new phone is because after 4 years the plastic on the front cracked and is chipping.
Over all this is a great phone, I've dropped it and its been fine. I do recommend it.

We live in China where all cell phones are unlocked. We purchased this phone when problems with a two week old V8 surfaced. The V3i has been rock solid.
We upgraded the memory card to store more tunes on the phone. Installation of the upgrade worked first try. Loading tunes was easy using Motorola's software.
On a personal note, the buttons are large enough it's difficult to "fat finger" a number.
All in all a great value.

This was advertised as a NEW phone but it's not, and the supposedly NEW battery is useless also. I had to use the battery and cord from my old RAZR to charge it up because the ones in the box did not work. Also the phone was full of pictures of people's cats and dorm rooms saved in 2008. I'm very dissapointed because I paid for a new phone and got a used or refurbished one. I love the RAZR phone itself because it's a really good product but I don't feel that I got what I paid for. Also by the time I found the pictures and figured it out, it was too late to return it because this dealer only accepts returns within 7 days! I will never buy anything electronic from Amazon again.

I bought two of these cells to replace T-Mobile's Shadow phone, which while it had great options, ate batteries to the point that we never used them. The Motorola set up for us with no problems. We inserted our sim cards and we were good to go. We've had the phones for about 3 months now and have had no problems. A charged battery lasts sometimes up to 4 days. Texting is easy and the screen and keypad work well for people who need glasses. It goes online easily and quickly and games download with no problems. Maybe we've been lucky, but so far this phone has out performed the Shadow hands down!

I received my unlocked razr v3 here in Baghdad and right out of the box it was great. I am not pleased at all with the hands free. The volume from the ear piece is not the quality I have come to expect from original accessories. The sound of the mic according to my wife is distant. Again not the quality of an original in my opinion. I have browsed the inside of the phone. I am a long time motorolla user so it was very familiar. I have a plantronics bluetooth in the US and when I get home I will try it with the phone.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Baghdad!

Thin is definitely in. At just over a half-inch thick, the Motorola RAZR V3 is the perfect combination of sleek design and powerful features. With long-range Bluetooth, support for video playback, a VGA (640 x 480) camera, a full-color screen, and quad-band capability, the RAZR V3 is everything you're looking for in a stylish mobile companion.

Motorola RAZR V3xx Unlocked GSM Cell Phone Review

Motorola RAZR V3xx Unlocked GSM Cell Phone

I bought the RAZR V3xx as a replacement for my RAZR V3 that took a trip through the laundry cycle. Since I was looking for a phone with just a few more features than the V3, I opted for the V3xx. I must say that I like it. I especially like the voice commands (Name Dial to select a phone book entry, Digit Dial to say the numbers that should be dialed, Voicemail, and a few others). Though it is not the rugged version, I have dropped it several times with no issues. The bluetooth functions work flawlessly and the speakerphone of good also.
There was one thing that I was disappointed about and that was the lack of games (there are none) that came standard on the phone. Of course I can add them to the phone, but I was expectin at least a couple to be standard and preloaded.

Overview Compatible with Cingular service, the quad-band Motorola V600G cell phone features Bluetooth connectivity, an integrated VGA digital camera, and MMS with video clip playback. You'll also get "Situational Lights"--a feature that lets you light colors for various types of calls--and much more, all displayed on a large, high-resolution 176 x 220 pixel, 65,000 color interior screen. In our tests, we found that the basic Motorola clamshell format continues to provide a solid and attractive option for any dedicated cell phone user. Its steel frame is compact and attractive, (the faceplate-changing capabilities seem a bit unnecessary) and it's loaded with all the essential features you'll need for power usage plus a few bonuses. You may find the volume a bit high out of the box, and it goes into hibernate almost as fast as you can dial a number, but these are minor, adjustable quibbles on a truly stellar phone. Calling Features Used simply as a cell phone, the V600G features a 4-way scroll key with multiple dedicated function keys for easy menu navigation. Primary calling features include voice dialing, integrated speakerphone, vibrate mode, call timers, redial, missed call indicator, call log, any-key answer, auto-answer, auto-redial, roaming indicator, speed dial, linked (credit card) dialing, phonebook look-up, phonebook scroll, mute control, no-answer transfer, one-touch 911, system select, usage alert, and a phone book of up to 1250 entries, including picture caller ID functionality. When the phone is closed, its external screen (two lines, 96 x 32 pixels) displays caller ID, date, time, and various status icons, including text message waiting, voice message waiting, battery and signal strength, and voice and message mail. There's even a blue backlight for nighttime viewing. In our tests, we found that the V600G sports well-placed, well-machined keys, and its compact size does nothing to hinder dialing even for large-fingered users. The solid scroll keys bring you to very intuitive menus presented nicely on a single screen, marked by functional but showier-than-necessary graphics. There are also dedicated external buttons for speaker volume, voice recording, and ring volume. Messaging and Internet The advanced MMS capabilities built in to the V600G enable users to send, edit, forward, and receive image, text, audio, and video messages over the wireless Internet, to and from compatible phones or PCs. (Messages can run up to 100k in size.) You'll also get instant messaging capability, messaging templates, SMS two-way messaging, conventional email, and predictive text assistance. Beyond messaging, the V600G's Internet connectivity lets you access online services such as stock quotes, road directions, airline information, entertainment, and more. You can also download Java applications (version CLDC 1.0, MIDP 2.0, 100k per application limit) for which the phone provides 5 MB total (shared) memory. High-speed data transfer and download round out the package. The V600G supports digital TTY/TDD functionality for the hearing impaired. Organizer Organizer features include a calendar, calculator with currency converter, date book with event storage, and voice memo. You can also transfer this data to your PC wirelessly via the phone's Bluetooth capability. In our tests, we found the V600G's appointment scheduling to be right in line with our fairly basic needs. Other than the universal annoyance of pecking out appointment details with the ten-key letter system (there's no QWERTY keyboard here as you'll find on some of the more recent, albeit early-adopter phones) this phone's organizer features provided enough data entry space for any busy person taking these functions seriously, but no more. Fun and Games For fun, the V600G sports a built-in 640 x 480 pixel integrated digital camera with zoom and brightness adjustment functions. Pictures taken with the camera can be stored in the phone or sent to others via multimedia messaging. The 5 MB of memory available for storing pictures is also shared with whatever wallpapers, screensavers, ring tones, Java applications, or games you may download from the Internet. The V600G also features 24 chord ring tone capability. Users can assign different tones for different callers in the V600G's phonebook, and assign separate tones to denote incoming messages, faxes, and reminders. Wireless multiplayer gaming capabilities and two included games, "Bejeweled" and "Stuntman", round out the entertainment perks with this phone. In our tests, we liked this phone's very basic camera. It was easy to use and worry-free (nothing's going to break off), and the device can be accessed instantly from the phone's top level screen menu. From power on, it only took us a moment to take and save a fairly nice picture. However, photo quality is only adequate; about as good as you'd expect for a cell phone circa 2004, as opposed to a dedicated digital camera. We also found the ring tones included with the phone to be generally pleasant, and it was a breeze to assign a custom tone to a number in the phonebook, thanks again to the easy menu system. The included games were basic and fairly fun (at least once). In "Stuntman", the phone's vibrate mode provided road rumble as a little car skidded around a bland, full-color stunt course. But player beware! Once the game starts, the volume goes LOUD and is not apparently adjustable. Finally, there is a nutty little feature called Motomixer, which lets you modify various settings on songs that you can download, emulating a very rudimentary, miniature studio console. In all, we found the Motorola V600G to be a rock solid, highly effective cell phone, with attractive and efficient graphic and audio capabilities. We recommend the Motorola V600G without reservations, for any serious user. Vital Statistics The Motorola V600G's security features include call restrictions, phone lock, and new password capability. The phone weighs 4.4 ounces and measures 3.46 x 1.85 x 9.1 inches. Its Lithium Ion batteries are rated at up to 450 minutes talk time, and up to 240 hours standby time. It runs on GSM 800/900/1800/1900 mode. What's in the Box V600G cell phone, instruction manuals, high capacity 750 mAh Li-Ion battery, headset/earbud, battery charger

The phone is in good condition and works well. However, the seller did not ship with car charger as advertised. Another purchaser had this same issue. I don't expect to see one coming even though I complained to seller already.
The battery discharged without any use over night.
It's NOT a Motorola OEM battery.
It's a good looking copy but Motorola OEM batteries are made in Japan, not China.
An OEM battery will most likely not have this happen.
They are available from Motorola at $41.00
Glad the phone was cheap.

Motorola RAZR V3 Unlocked Phone with Camera and Video Player--U.S. Version with Warranty (Silver) Review

Motorola RAZR V3 Unlocked Phone with Camera and Video Player--U.S. Version with Warranty (Silver)

(More customer reviews)
I ordered this phone to replace a worn-out Razr that I've had for a few years. I love my Razr; it's the perfect phone for someone who does not need a fancy iPhone, Blackberry, touchscreen, etc. I expected a completely brand new phone, unlocked, direct from the manufacturer.
The phone was locked (it needed a code) and had a "Refurbished" label. T-Mobile and Amazon could not help me so I called Motorola. I provided the MSN and IMEI codes (one-of-a-kind ID numbers assigned in the factory) from the phone, and he said the codes were not in the database, meaning the phone had been sold by a carrier or refurbished.
I asked Amazon for a replacement. The replacement phone did not have a "Refurbished" label and did not ask for an unlock code; I inserted my SIM card and made and received calls. However, the phone has AT&T logos, screensavers, browser links, etc. While it was technically unlocked, it was not what I expected. The next morning, all the keys and buttons stopped working. The phone was a complete dud after less than one day of use.
This time I asked Amazon for a refund. I guess I could ask for a third phone, but I'm sick of this and I found a much better price and warranty on the exact same item at another retailer.
This page does not state that this phone may be refurbished, may have carrier branding, or may be locked. In my experience all of these things were true. Two different customer service representatives told me that every time they send me a replacement, it is from the same batch that Motorola sold them so it may have the same problems as the phone I'm returning.
Bottom line: Amazon admits that, when you order this item, they don't know if you will receive the product described on this page.

Motorola RAZR V3 Black Phone (AT&T) Review

Motorola RAZR V3 Black Phone (ATandT)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The V3 Razr has had a lot of problems. The main one is a consistent buzzing sound in many of them that both you and the person you're calling can hear. It's apparently a bad ground in the handset somewhere. The only fix is to replace the handset. I went through three of them before giving up. After reading good reviews of the V3xx Razr, I went against my better judgement and got one. The V3xx is everything the V3 *should* have been. Better features, 3G, excellent call quality, good handset volume without having to hack a gain table, etc. Do yourself a favor. If you like the Razr form factor like I do, go for the V3xx. Be advised though that most cases for the V3 will not work with the V3xx because it's slightly larger.

Motorola RAZR V3i Unlocked Cell Phone with Camera, MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with Warranty (Silver) Review

Motorola RAZR V3i Unlocked Cell Phone with Camera, MP3/Video Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with Warranty (Silver)
Average Reviews:

My "Treo" after close to 3 years of continued use finally started going out. Since I'm not on the road any longer and just need a decent phone. So I checked the reviews and bought this little baby. I do travel out of the country every year and not wanting to be locked in I wanted unlocked model. Smooth connection with my provider and the features work except for the web, no great loss there for me though.
All in All it's a very nice phone except the battery cover doesn't snap on correctly, pretty cheap really. Shipping it back really isn't worth the cost or effort so I'll eat it. I'll look for a replacement cover and replace it.
Other than than I do like the phone, works great, clear connection. The iTunes I have no use for, never thought sucking up your power listening to DRM infested iTunes on a phone made since. I've got a slick mp3 player by Cowon (thank you Amazon) that is wonderful.
All in all I'd give the phone 4-5 stars if it wasn't for the battery cover.

You've probably seen the wildly popular Motorola RAZR V3 in someone's hand before. With the quad-band GSM RAZR V3i, Motorola has made it even better. The sexy design is still here, as is the all-metal construction. This time, though, the phone boasts an updated and streamlined design, enhanced video capture and playback capabilities, a 1.23 megapixel camera, and a hot-swappable MicroSD memory card slot.
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider. This phone comes with a one-year warranty from a third party provider.
Design At .55 inches thick, the RAZR V3i is virtually the same thickness as the original RAZR. And like the original RAZR, the phone's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, fully-anodized aluminum construction. A large 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover. The outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can display caller ID pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The 1.23 megapixel camera lens is housed above this display. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control.
Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. A mini-USB port is provided, which, while useful for fast data transfer, can also be used with compatible USB stereo headsets. Note that the phone does not have a standard 2.5mm headset jack.
Calling Features The RAZR V3i's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. The phone also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family, and associates as easy as saying their names. Speaker-independent technology allows any speaker to dial numbers with the voice dialing system. And because the RAZR V3i is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets can be configured with the phone for total hands-free operation.
Messaging, Internet, and Tools The RAZR V3i is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound, and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. There's also a built-in Web browser for mobile Web downloads and browsing via your carrier's GPRS-based data service. If you need e-mail on the go, the V3i comes with an e-mail client that supports IMAP, POP3, and SMTP email standards. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile e-mail and text messaging users.
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the RAZR V3i, including a calculator with currency converter, a calendar, and an alarm clock. The phone can also be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar, and other data with your PC.
Imaging and Entertainment The V3i's 1.23 megapixel camera bridges the gap between phones and quality digital cameras. The digital zoom-enabled camera is also designed to capture video. You can even print your shots on a Bluetooth-enabled printer. Embedded animated screensavers and full screen wallpapers are built-in so you can set up the RAZR V3i to suit your tastes. I have been with At&t since it was Cingular, and since I didn't want to get locked into another 2 year contract, I went for this. Its a great phone. I ordered it on the 1st of the month and it arrived on the 4th. Battery was charged, and since at&t compatible, I was off and running. Now for the con's even though you save everything to your sims card, it DOES NOT transfer to the new phone, but I did go from a Nokia to a Motorola, that may have been the glitch, because my husband has one (a Razr), and we tried his sims card and yep, all his info is now on my phone (all except the photos). Its easy to use, the user guide that's provided is useless, but go to the Motorola site, and download, or read what you need to know, and your golden. So far, no dropped calls, sound quality is good, it is user friendly, not too big, or too small for those of us who tend to misplace things. Programed ring tones are awful, but that's to be expected. You will loose all your photos from your old phone, unless you know how to transfer them, all in all, a great buy. I don't think you will be disappointed.
