(More customer reviews)Most chargers I try to use with this phone -- EVEN MOTOROLA CHARGERS -- give an "Unauthorized Charger Error". This is a great reason to never buy a Motorola phone. This is a BIG problem with Motorola phones. Have almost no such issues with other brands.

Motorola RAZR2 V9m Phone (Verizon Wireless, Phone Only, No Service) Review

(More customer reviews)I just took delivery of the new RAZR2 and I can say that this phone is a much needed improvement over the original RAZR. (See my review of the old RAZR.)
I upgraded from my RAZR to the new RAZR2. First thing that you notice is that the RAZR2 makes the RAZR look fat! It's slimmer, but the face is wider.
The new EXTERNAL screen on the RAZR2 is the same size as the INTERNAL screen on the original RAZR! The screen resolution is so much sharper, and on the external screen, you can use touch sensitive controls to activate your music files, voice command or camera. The touch screen actually vibrates when you press a selection. Both screens are brighter and clearer than the RAZR1.
The main user interface is very similar to the RAZR1. The reaction time is much quicker. Menus and commands appear and execute instantly. The RAZR1 seemed to have a delay in processing even the most simple commands.
To me, the call quality sounds exactly the same as the RAZR1, however, the earpiece can be adjusted louder and the external alerts are louder as well.
The phone includes GPS which works very well and is quite fast which providing point to point driving directions.
The enhanced Bluetooth feature is great. You can now send pictures, music and video files over the Bluetooth signal, versus the RAZR1 which only allowed voice data over Bluetooth.
The 2megapixel camera is a nice update over the RAZR1. I took a few test shots in various conditions. The picture quality and low-light ability is first rate. (For a camera phone.)
The feel and design of the RAZR2 keypad is identical to the RAZR1, but the circular, five point "wheel" in the center is bigger.
The internet browser is much faster and looks more like the "real web", but it's still not as good as the Iphone.
There are only a few things that I don't like about the RAZR2.
On the old RAZR, you could instantly silence the phone or put it into vibrate mode using the buttons on the external lefthand side of the phone while the phone was closed. Now you have to open the phone to set the ring volume/vibrate.
Also, the built-in ringtones are horrible and not loud enough to hear in a loud room. (Even on the highest setting.)
Otherwise, the new RAZR2 finally fixes the flaws of the original RAZR and makes it a decent new phone.

(More customer reviews)I just purchased this phone a week ago and I have been nothing but impressed. What some of the website reviews are missing is the fact you can access the music player and camera while the flip is closed. The touch screen buttons on the external screen work great. It is also nice that the external screen can be locked so nothing is pressed accidentally.
Phone quality is excellent. I did not experience any echoing or static while on calls. Picture and music quality is also great. This phone really can double as a music player. I have never listened to a phone with such great music quality. Even Sony Ericsson's Walkman line can't touch it.
Another thing no review tells you is the fact the phone comes with a mini USB adapter so you can use the original RAZR accessories. It also comes packaged with a 3.5mm headset adapter so you can use regular headphones with the phones. Both adapters work great with no hiccups.
It is also nice that you can use the phone as an external storage device granted you have a microSD card inserted and a USB cable that can connect the computer from the phone. Because of this feature, I have been able to create my own ringtones and put them on the phone. To transfer data to the phone, no other applications are required. Just drag and drop through Windows Explorer.
Overall, this a cell phone packing every feature I would need. The only quip I have the phone is the fact that the outside smudges easily (though it can be wiped clean just as easily). Also, it would be nice to activate the speaker phone before making phone calls (like you can with Verizon phones). Other than that, this is a great phone purchase, though the asking price of $299 ($179 on Amazon.com) with a 2 year agreement can turn away some. But of course, the original RAZR was $500 when it made its debut.

(More customer reviews)First and foremost, this phone is gorgeous! I have the V8 from T-mobile and its the dark blue color which looks amazing. Okay now to the phone itself:
Pros:
1.Design - this phone has touch feedback on the front screen which can be used to change tracks with the built-in 2GB worth of storage! The number keys are a little bigger than in the original Razr which makes it easier to access without looking at the phone.
2. Speed - the operating system of this phone is definitely faster than the original Razr. It has a much cleaner menu system and its much easier to customize it to what you use most.
3. Reception - I had some problems with the original Razr but with this phone I have yet to have a reception issue which in itself was worth the cost of the phone.
4. Battery life - I dont just use this phone to make calls and as a result my battery life would be less than those who do just use it for a phone. However with playing music, making calls, surfing the net I still get about 2 days worth of usage before having to charge...which is definitely a plus over the less than 1.5 days I would get w/ the original Razr JUST making phone calls.
Okay so now to the annoyances:
Cons:
1. Price - This phone, although a great upgrade to the Razr, is a little expensive at $250 direct from T-mobile with a contract/upgrade. I needed an upgrade right away but if you can wait I would say do so because the price will definitely fall through the holidays (or right after)
2. Internet speed - T-mobile does not have 3G (yet) so Edge is all you have when surfing the net, which even compared to dial-up is hard to bear but I try to just use it for checking email and not just for random surfing.
3. Design - Although I listed this as a Pro, there are some issues i have with this phone. It has too many grooves and places where dust and hard-to-reach particles can get in. So I definitely recommend a case for this to protect (especially) the front of the phone, which can easily get smudged with fingerprints because of its reflective nature.
Overal:
A great phone with many improvements over the original Razr and may just be the boost Motorola needed to get back in the game after making so many mistakes with the "In-Between" Razrs. Price and some design issues keep me from making it a 5/5 but definitely deserves 4/5 and even a 4.5! If you were looking for the Razr design but needed major improvements to make this worthwhile, this Razr2 is it! Enjoy!

(More customer reviews)I loved the V3i so naturally I wanted to upgrade to the V9 for the sleek design. Though stated by the seller as unlocked/international version it came as a branded AT&T phone with proprietary buttons and AT&T software/splash screen. It still works with T-Mobile. It was also REFURBISHED as I found out when I opened the package, the phone did not align properly without correction and was a bit loose in the hingers, there were also well over 100 numbers stored to the phone memory that was not deleted before it was sent to me. I chose to keep it anyway because my older phone was broke and I really needed another phone. Overall a good phone but not really worth the price for a branded refurb.
