Well, I actually bought this phone from FGS Trading, I'm very very happy because it arrived in less time that I expected.
This phone is for my son he loves apple products and i saw it and touched it and I'm very glad with this seller cause it really is a factory unlocked iPhone there was no problem with the other companies and the box was with the factory plastic wrap.
I would really buy again with this seller I'm very happy.
PS: The best phone I've ever seen.
Congrats FGS Trading.

Apple iPhone 3G 16GB (Black) Review

Paid 150 dollars for my good condition iphone 3g and received it in a few days. The condition made it seemed not even used, it just has like 2 scratches on the screen and they are not even bad. The phone deal is better than I thought, 150 for an out of contract iphone, can't get better than that anywhere. Thank you again amazon!
P.S. To answer the questions of the people wondering I'm sure, the phone is not unlocked and you must do it yourself. It is very easy so just look it up online.

Apple iPhone 3G 8GB - Black (Refurbished) Review

Apple iPhone 3G 8GB - Black (Refurbished)

While item is in working condition, by "refurbished to manufacturer" standards, I assume the phone would look as if it had not been used. Unfortunately, the bezel of the phone is extremely scratched, as is the back. Also, the "home" button is harder to press than should be. Again, the item is functional, but don't be fooled by terminology of the seller. My item came in USED condition.

Apple iPhone 4 Black Smartphone 32GB (AT&T) Review

Apple iPhone 4 Black Smartphone 32GB (ATandT)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Below is my review of the 16GB model that I purchased in September. The two models are completely identical with the only exception being the additional 16G of storage space. Performance is totally unaffected by this....... Please note that this is strictly my opinion of the phone itself, I have no knowledge of this seller or the condition of the phones they sell.
I had the 8GB 3G model and thought that was great, until I got a demo of the iPhone 4. Man is this version is light years ahead of the original model.
With a 1Ghz CPU, and 16GB of flash memory, this thing is a portable office/entertainment center par excellence. I've had this phone for 3 months without a single problem, the display is nice and sharp, the apps load very fast, and I now have over 130 apps to perform just about every duty you could possibly think of with absolutely no impact on performance. And on the ATT 3G network, I average download speeds of around 1.8Mbps, and over 1M upload speeds....and how do I know that, cause I got an app that tells me that's how. BTW, the display is the equivalent of a 960x640 on your desktop (double the 3G model) so what you see is essentially a high res yield and page loads are superfast. And resident memory, after a full days use I just checked and still had 120Mb of Ram available. On the 3G model that number was usually down around 4Mb by the end of the work day and had to be refreshed.
I was in the computer/design/manufacturing business for 20 years, and this is by far the most amazing piece of technology I have ever seen or imagined. Even the battery life is 3x better than the previous model, and thats a good thing cause its integrated but a full charge should yield and entire days work of calls, emails, surfing the web, SMS messaging, and play. I no longer need my laptop cause there's nothing I cant do with the iPhone, and that includes sending faxes, editing Excel or Word documents, and even printing. A flash for the 5MP camera, an HD video camera, and even real time video conferencing over a wireless network, and Bluetooth that unlike the 3G model is actually compatible with everything you throw at it, including Garmin GPS....just amazing. This thing even has 2 mics with noise suppression so calls are clearer on the other end. Man, Apple hit this one out of the park.
BTW, with all the apps, music, and videos I've got loaded on this thing I've still got 10GB of flash memory remaining. I cant imagine why anybody would need more storage, and the 32GB model isn't any faster and doesn't have any more features. You'll need iTunes on your desktop to get the most out of this phone and iTunes can be a little intimidating at first but its worth the trouble, and all the instruction you need can be found on the web or Youtube for transferring photos, videos, music, apps, etc.
Update 12/09/10: I've been reading up on the "antenna problem" with the iPhone 4G and have this to say.... It is easily cured by slapping on a hard case or shell on the phone, which eliminates the issue I see some people complaining about. I have personally never experienced this issue because I left the AT&T store with a protective shell on my phone which virtually everybody I've ever seen with an iPhone has anyway. Very simply you CANNOT replicate the reported "death grip" problem with a shell around the outer frame. Cant be done. And BTW, I don't know if its due to network improvements or what but lately I'm getting 4Mbps download speeds so if anything I'm happier with my purchase now than I was 4 months ago. Zero complaints, and that's something most smartphone users of other OEM products can't say.
A final word: Beware negative reviews on here that are filled with bad English and are authored by individuals who have written only one review (on the iPhone) and posted it in several locations on Amazon's site. Its easy to pick these out, and they have no doubt been written by the same person. See the comments section for a definitive review on the Iphone 4 and the overblown "antenna issue" from Anandtech.com
A final final word: Apparently this phone from Worldwide Distributors is LOCKED! If you plan to use this phone outside AT&T's network you are screwed. All the one star reviews are from idiots that paid $800 for this phone without doing proper due diligence.
Oh wait, I do have one complaint about the iPhone 4. Several times a month my girlfriend gets mad at me and hangs up in the middle of the conversation so I guess I'm suffering from this "dropped call" thing after all. haw haw

LG KU990 Viewty Unlocked Phone with 5 MP Camera, International 3G, MP3/Video Player, and MicroSD Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Black) Review

LG KU990 Viewty Unlocked Phone with 5 MP Camera, International 3G, MP3/Video Player, and MicroSD Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The LG Viewty is a very expensive phone. But I will not get into that, I think, judging by its offerings, its worth the money.
The phone is very well designed, and I guarantee you'll be astonished at its relatively thin design and screen size. The full thing was much smaller than I had expected. I like the looks of the chrome outlining around the phone, but it would've been nice to have the bottom buttons off the screen in chrome too, like the Prada. BUT this chrome outlining is actually just a little thick and does chip over time.
The camera lens inconveniently DOESN'T have a lens cover, a rather strange move. The glossy front and matte back are nice and the chrome buttons on the side only compliment the phone. There is only one side of the phone with buttons, while the other only has a jack for the USB cable/Headphone adapter/Charger. But it has a sliding cover, much better than those rubber things usually.
The phone looks great, but the microSd card is located under the battery. Its both good and bad. Another slot on the phone wouldn't look great, but then again, removing the battery is irritating.
Turning the phone on, your greeted with an LG icon, as you wait around 30 seconds for the phone to start up. Luckily, there is no initial lag after start up.
The menu's are VERY simple and easy to use. You are immediately prompted to activate your Sd card, and export your contact list on your SIM to the phone. Worked fast and efficiently.
The menu is slightly similar to the iphone. There are 4 main icons on the main screen. THey are always there, either horizontally or vertically on the screen. Within each is a different shortcut. The first one takes you to the apps page, like on blackberry's. The second one allows you to call. THe 3rd is a mail shaped icon that takes you to texting and emailing, conveniently located in the same shortcut. The 4th one is your contacts list. The original menu is black and white, but there are plenty of themes, user made or not, that can be installed, some mimicking the iphone, others the blackberry, etc.
The screen is originally decorated with the 4 shortcut buttons, a clock, and the bar strength/battery life/profile settings, but can be littered with a full calander, blu tooth/music settings, and a digital or normal clock and even a Fish to move around the screen.
Call quality is amazing on this phone, better than my high quality home phone! Even at 1 bar, people sound crisp and clear and several times people have wondered, during a conversation, how I sound so clear on my cell. Even with the included headphone adapter for music, which has a mic in it, I sound clear and loud.
Texting is very easy, but takes some learning and getting used to. You need to understand how the QWERTY board is different from normal ones, but it works, very well actually, once you fully grasp a hold of it.
The 3.0" screen is beautiful and colorful, with nice contrasts and brightness. But the touch screen is just touch and not thermal like the itouch/iphone. It works well, very well, better than the Nintendo DS or Prada. But not quite as touch screen sensitivity defining as the iphone.Video is amazing. Simply put. Depending on the video, if you put in a good quality video you'll love the results. DivX, h.263/4, MP4, WMV, and MPG,
Music quality is great, and the music is organized exactly as it would be on a normal iPod. There is no lag, and it shows album art, features fowarding/rewinding, and music minimizing so you can use other apps while listening to your music, key features no other phone, even music based phones offer, other than the iPhone.
But this is no music phone, its a camera phone. Besides the awesome game support (full 3d graphics, guitar hero works!) , great music support, awesome video player, etc.
Its AMAZING. I've never owned a phone with a camera this beautiful and sophisticated. It actually has a really, really, really, good lens. You could take 1MP photo's, and they'd appear better than some 2.0 MP compact camera's!
A plentiful variety of options await you as you turn on the camera. The camera part of the phone is almost entirely separate. As soon as you click the camera button or enter it via menu, the phone options, music, its all gone, and it seems like a camera and only a camera. The xenon flash works fantastic and in horribly lit situations, the phone performs reasonably well, although it isn't the greatest. But some ISO level tweaking, and white balancing working helps a bunch. Initially, although I was impressed, I expected better from the renowned lens developer. But I realized that by default the phones camera is not set as optimally as you'd want it.
The video camera is even better, probably the best I've used, period. For the price, of course. It reaches resolutions of up to 640x480 or normal screen size of 320x240.
It can also record at 120fps, which is very fun to play with. See a balloon pop, things dropping, cars driving by, etc.
Originally it records at a stable 30FPS.
The phone is absolutely great.
It has some other faults though. there are other toys, like a voice recorder, FM Radio, a great HDSPA browser, etc.
But no wifi, no quad band (tri band), no thermal screen, no lens cover, etc.
I still definitely recommend the phone to anyone. Especially those in European/Asian areas. In America it works fine, but I live up in the mountains and around here, while the 850 band is present, 1900, which is all this phone supports in America, is not as profound. Around big cities/high ways/mostly everywhere except suburban/rural areas, it works great. And even at 1 bar it works fine.
Definitely recommend it. And get a different screen protector and a case, the thing scratches a little easily.

Combining sensational style with ultimate functionality, the LG KU990 Viewty camera phone includes high-end Schneider-Kreuznach optics as well as an advanced LCD touchscreen. The extra large 3-inch display provides superior visibility when operating its camera or handset functions and it reacts to your touch by signaling direct contact with vibration. The 5-megapixel camera includes a manual focus option that enables you to snap professional-quality photos by pinpointing or fading out on subjects as you wish. It also records stunning video at 120 frames per second (fps). Other features include Bluetooth connectivity for communication headsets and stereo music streaming, 100 MB internal memory, MicroSD memory expansion (up to 2 GB), multi-format digital audio player, and nearly 4 hours of talk time.
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides tri-band connectivity (900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider. This phone comes with a one-year warranty from a third party provider.
When paired with a compatible 3G network that uses UMTS 2100 MHz connectivity (found in Europe and Asia), you'll enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless services with speeds up to 384 Kbps--from data connectivity to your office to multimedia streaming, and take advantage of simultaneous voice and data services. In the United States and foreign territories where 2100 MHz 3G networks are not available, you'll continue to receive data service via EDGE network (depending on network compatibility).
Phone Features Building on the success of its Prada phone, the LG Viewty's 3-inch TFT touchscreen provides an intuitive user interface that makes it easy to use right out of the box, with many controls similar to digital cameras. It has a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and support for 256K colors. A jog wheel placed on the back of the handset allows for quick scrolling and searching; and when playing music or videos it can turn the volume up and down, fast-forward or rewind and zoom in and out. You can easily select the modes--Camera, Video, Album--with the 3-step module key.
Handwriting recognition technology identifies user handwriting on the display surface for easy and convenient composition of text, phone numbers and Internet searching. With the added Editing function, you can freely edit and enhance captured images and relive the moment by directly drawing or writing on them with their fingertips or with a stylus.
Certified by the optics giant Schneider-Kreuznach, the Viewty's 5.0-megapixel camera is capable of capturing clearer and more vivid images than other camera phones. And with the Viewty's manual focus function--a first for a camera phone--you can take more control over your pictures. Together with an image stabilizer function and its direct key button, it's now easier than ever to take crystal clear photos. This useful and camera-like feature not only enables novice photographers to take steady pictures, but also prevents any delicate movements when capturing images.
Without the use of flash, the Viewty excels in capturing low-light images by increasing the ISO standard of 400 to 800, as well as enabling you to adjust the brightness level of captured images with LG's SmartLight technology. The high-speed video recording function of LG Viewty allows you to catch every moving detail of a balloon bursting or a diver plunging into the water. This ultra high-speed function can capture the finest detail of any passing moment to be played back in the most vivid and dramatic way.
The Bluetooth version 1.2 wireless connectivity includes profiles for communication headset, data transfer and the A2DP Bluetooth advanced audio profile, which enables you to stream audio to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. It also provides support for PictBridge technology so you can print your photos without the need of a PC (either using USB or Bluetooth).
The integrated digital audio player offers support for a variety of formats (MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA), as does the video player (MPEG4, H.263, H.264). The full screen enables users to enjoy high quality DivX video files in wide screen format. Your entertainment options are expanded even further with a built-in FM radio.
Other features include:

Apple iPhone 4G 32GB Quad-band World GSM Phone (Factory Unlocked) Review

Apple iPhone 4G 32GB Quad-band World GSM Phone (Factory Unlocked)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
iPhone 4 is the best phone I've ever had. I am very, very happy with this purchase. It's factory unlocked, so I am using it in Venezuela with Movistar, and I have all the iPhone services active
Pros:
1. Great design
2. Very good quality images and video (from main camera, and not so bad from the front one)
3. Great sound (with and without headphones)
4. The best screen you'll gonna find. Bright colors, best resolution
5. Thousands of applications
6. If you have an iPad and/or a Mac this phone is the best choice to keep all your data synchronized, and a full wireless access
Cons:
1. Firsts days, the battery life was a bad issue, but then I found that there is a service called "ping" that you can unactivate, and the battery life increased 90% (some days I even don't charge my phone overnight, and next day I still have 60% of battery)
2. High price, but it worth it
3. Sometimes I wish it would have a full qwerty keyboard, but right now I feel very comfortable with virtual keyboard
Important: There is no "antenna gate" issue with my phone

Average Reviews:

My iPhone 3gs was ordered and delivered in ample time. It is a pretty good and reliable phone. I prefer this by far over the Blackberry. The only major problem I have so far with the iPhone 3gs is the battery life. I don't usually run many applications or do much downloading on a regular basis, but I have to charge the phone every single night. Ughhh! There is suppose to be a pin like object to open the simcard slot, that pin was pissing and one other problem, which is a defect with this particular phone, is that there seems to be some heated pixels to the top right-hand corner of the screen. Whenever i take pictures etc, the picture has this black dis-colouration about the size of a penny on it. That is the major disappointment with this phone, because it is suppose to be a BRAND NEW phone! Other than that and the battery life its a great phone.

Apple iPhone 4 16GB White Unlocked (Never Lock) Import Review

Apple iPhone 4 16GB White Unlocked (Never Lock) Import
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
(OK, when I posted this review, there was one seller, now there are over 50 on this
page ostensibly selling "white" iPhones. Advice: Ask questions.)
This phone from Alpha 1 Sales appears to be a refurb, not new. Check these details.
# Version 4.2 or most recent version
# Fully "restored", includes all original applications
# "Original" packaging
# All "new" earbuds, USB Cable, and AC Adapter
Apple does not advertise original packaging, or fully restored products with new accessories.
Also this Amazon listing includes a photo of a white "conversion kit." Not cool. Also you need
to check the customer feedback, there are complaints about used phones being passed off as new.
Amazon needs to do a better job of policing these type listings, especially since they are
providing the fulfillment services. Bad form. BTW, 5 stars for the iPhone 4, but I would never
pay this kind of money for a used refurb.

10/10 on form factor...this is a sweet phone, bought it for my wife and she LOVES it, and looks SO hot using it! Slight reception issues outside of major metropolitan areas, some dead spots in small cities due to the tri-band, but overall surprisingly better than expected (we use AT&T/Cingular). No problems with SIM card interface. Not a phone for tech junkies although the whole touch screen is pretty slick. Camera is actually better than I thought. Has flash but not auto. Does come with earphones, a 128MB card and beautiful packaging. USB port works fantastic just like flash drive for data transfer to desktop. You WILL stick out like a sore thumb using this thing - and love every minute of it! Highly recommend it, but do check out tri-band reception in your area first to avoid major disappointment.

Click Here to see more reviews about: LG KE850 Prada Unlocked Phone with Touchscreen, 2 MP Camera, MP3/Video Player, and MicroSD Slot--International Version with No Warranty (Black)

Offering a sophisticated design developed with Italian luxury fashion house Prada that's mixed with a cutting edge user interface technology from LG, the tri-band PRADA Phone by LG (KE850) brings much more to the party than just stunning good looks. Its minimalist, black-tie industrial design has been complemented by a 3-inch touch screen that enables you to control virtually all the phone's functions with just your finger--no stylus needed. It's also loaded with bounty of features you expect from a top-of-the-line mobile phone: 2-megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach optics, Bluetooth connectivity for stereo headphones, multi-format digital audio player, FM radio, MicroSD expansion, and PIM organizer applications to keep you on schedule.
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides tri-band voice connectivity (GSM/GPRS 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz), enabling you to travel the globe and stay in contact. It also can handle high-speed data connectivity via EDGE data networks, which is fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services (with average data speeds between 75-135Kbps), including video and music clips, full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and email on the go. It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider.

Amazingly small with a body that measures 3.9 x 2.1 x 0.5 inches, the PRADA Phone weighs just 3 ounces (50 percent less than the Apple iPhone). The candybar has an understated, Avante-Garde design that resembles a highly styled high-definition television. It features a piano-black casing on the back and on the front surrounding the screen, and its features are softened by gently rounded corners. The sides are accented by a polished silver metal.

You'll interact with the PRADA Phone primarily with your finger on the 3-inch (diagonal) touchscreen, which has a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and a display capability of 256K colors. The Flash-based user interface displays glowing icons that disappear when not in use to reveal a stark black Prada theme. However, the UI can be changed to one of three pre-loaded themes--the Butterfly and Fish themes actually place a small creature on the standby screen that can follow your finger around. The standby screen is also home to the clock, which is operated with finger taps and can be dragged around the screen. The PRADA Phone offers a virtual numeric keypad, instead of a virtual QWERTY keyboard, for dialing of numbers and writing text messages (with help from the integrated T9 predictive text entry technology). The main menu system is arranged like tabbed folder pages full of icons and is intuitive and quick to learn.

The display can't be used with a stylus because of its capacitive touchscreen technology, which requires a human touch. Coated with a material that stores electrical charges, this capacitive touchscreen uses electro-conductivity to sense your touch and then sends precise horizontal and vertical location information to the processor about the charge that gets drawn at the point of contact.

Unlike Apple's iPhone, the PRADA Phone does have a number of real off-screen buttons and controls. The call control and back keys are on the front of the device, a lock key and a multi-function camera/music key are on the right edge, and the ring profiles key, volume control, and charger/headset port are located on the left edge.

The 2-megapixel, auto-focus camera features a lens made by Germany's Schneider-Kreuznach, which is known for it's high level of optics quality. It tops out at a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels, but also offers a range of resolution choices down to 320 x 240 pixels. It includes a self-timer, three quality modes, four color effects, white balance settings, a choice of shutter sounds, and a multishot mode. You can also shoot video clips with several resolution choices (including 400 x 240-pixel widescreen, matching the PRADA Phone's screen, and the more standard 176 x 144 QCIF).

The Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity includes profiles for communication headset, data transfer and the A2DP Bluetooth advanced audio profile, which enables you to stream audio to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. The integrated digital audio player offers support for a variety of formats (MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, RA), as does the video player (MPEG4, H.263, H.264). Your entertainment options are expanded even further with a built-in FM radio (which is used in tandem with the included headset attached, as it serves as the antenna).

While not fully considered a smartphone, the PRADA Phone comes equipped with document viewers offering compatibility with today's most widely recognized file formats, including text files, PDFs and Microsoft Office documents--Word (.doc), Excel (.xls), and PowerPoint (.ppt) files. It also includes a full range of personal information management (PIM) organizer applications (calendar, to do list, world clock, unit converter, and calculator). With its fast USB 2.0 connection, the unit can also be used as a mass storage device. The phone has an expansion slot for MicroSD memory cards, which currently provide a maximum capacity of 4 GB of storage (as of August 2007).

Other features include:

Phonebook stores up to 1000 contact entries with up to four numbers, one e-mail address, and a memo field for each entry
Call log records 40 dialed/received/missed calls
Support for polyphonic and MP3-based ringtones (40 channels)
Vibration mode
Pre-loaded games: Halloween Fever, Photo Puzzle, Virus, Pipe
Proprietary port for headset jack
Speakerphone for handsfree communication; voice recorder
SMTP and POP3 email
SMS and MMS messaging
WAP 2.0 Web browser

Vital Statistics The PRADA Phone by LG weighs 3 ounces and measures 3.9 x 2.1 x 0.5 inches. Its 800 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 3 hours of talk time, and up to 300 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequencies. Motorola RAZR V3m Silver Phone (Verizon Wireless) Review

Motorola RAZR V3m Silver Phone (Verizon Wireless)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
---Pros and Cons:
P: popular model, so accessories are plentiful
C: popular model, so you're not unique
P: VZ Navigator (VZN) for $10/mo is very useful... Voice navigation with street names being read aloud is nice.
C: It uses minutes to re-calculate routes, so it's not unlimited usage
P: VZN doesn't need the $15/mo VCast
C: ..which is nice if you don't use VCast, but the point is that there's no way to get unlimited VZN use.
P: Speakerphone is loud
C: ..but not loud enough when driving
P: Voice prompt person/phone number lookup is great
C: ..but sometimes still requires pushing a button, making it not truly hands-free
P: mp3/mpeg4/jpg playback is neat; convert video to 3GP using a tool called "SUPER" - www.erightsoft.com
C: controls are clunky, screen resolution small, no full-screen support
P: expandable memory for 1GB of mp3/mpeg4/jpg
C: you need to remove the battery cover and battery to gain access to it
P: lightweight, slim metal housing
C: easily scratched; I bought a $25 skin at shildzone.com
P: easily readable display, keys
C: 176 x 220 resolution and 65k color depth is pretty low
P: Verizon interface is faster than the Moto interface
C: verizon interface... yuck, yuck, yuck
P: V3m supports BT Dial-Up-Networking (DUN) profile so you can use your phone as a high-speed modem
C: While it does work, if you plan on doing more than just testing it out, the Terms of Service require you purchase a data plan for ~$50/mo. It's a shame they don't have flexible day/week plans for the occasional traveler.
---Cons with hackable resolutions:
C: Vibrate + Ring is disabled
C: BT OBEX is disabled
C: Motorola Phone Tools Multimedia button disabled
C: self-imported mp3 ringtones are disabled
= all have unofficial work-arounds; see mark.cdmaforums.com
---Cons with no resolutions:
C: BREW instead of Java - which means a very limited number of games and apps
C: I have average-sized hands, and find the 4-way button and the middle button to be difficult to press.
C: Signal at my house, in the middle of a metropolis, is 0-1 bars
C: one day of standby + 5-6 calls + 15-minute VZN usage = 50% battery. Woah, go CDMA...
C: the 1.3MPixel camera takes worse photos than my VGA camera from 1997 - I'm not kidding.
C: the video camera is absolutely pointless
C: As much as I enjoy VZN, it loses signal once in while, which left me in some uncomfortable situations.
C: With a subpar web browser and non-live TV clips, I found VCast to be absolutely pointless. Sprint's live TV feed definitely adds more value.
C: CDMA, so this phone won't work overseas.
---Conclusion:
All in all, a decent phone that's great for someone looking for a slim CDMA phone with expandable memory, mp3/mpeg4 playback, and Navigation. As a previous GSM customer, the Verizon lockdown of the phone is just mind-boggling, but at least they can be disabled with some work. If I wasn't being forced to go Verizon, I'd still go GSM. Good luck!

Boasting support for Verizon Wireless' exclusive V Cast mobile content service, which is powered by EV-DO high-speed data technology, the RAZR V3m is the best RAZR yet from Verizon Wireless. The V3m also features a microSD/TransFlash memory card slot, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and a lot more goodies. But the big news is that the V3m supports Verizon Wireless' exciting music service, which lets you discover and jam out to tunes wherever you roam.
Design The RAZR V3m's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, fully-anodized aluminum construction. A large 176 x 220 color display with 65,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover. The outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can display caller ID pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The 1.3 megapixel camera lens is housed above this display. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control.
Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. A charging port and USB data cable port is placed on the bottom of the phone. The RAZR V3m also features 30 MB of embedded memory for storing pictures, videos and downloaded V Cast content, and you can expand your storage space with the phone's microSD/TransFlash memory card slot. Note that the phone does not have a 2.5mm headset jack, but a headset adapter is included in the box.
Calling Features The RAZR V3m's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. It also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. A number of ringtones come preloaded on the phone and more ringtones can be downloaded from Verizon Wireless' Get It Now service. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names. Speaker-independent technology allows any speaker to dial numbers with the voice dialing system. And because the RAZR V3m is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets can be configured with the phone for total handsfree operation.
Messaging, Internet, and Tools The RAZR V3m is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. There's also a built-in web browser for Verizon Mobile Web downloads and mobile web browsing. Verizon's optional Mobile Web package allows you to read and send e-mails and view your favorite web content on your phone. You can trade stocks online, compare prices while shopping, access flight information, get movie listings and find directions to the theater. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
With support for the EV-DO high-speed data standard, the RAZR V3m is fully compatible with Verizon's V Cast service. With V Cast, you can download and stream high-quality video. Need news and weather? Get the latest Accuweather forecast delivered right to your handset, or stream CNN news headlines. ESPN sports updates, entertainment news from E!, and even Sesame Street content for the kids, are all available. V Cast also serves as a portal for enhanced 3D games, allowing you to have more fun with a new breed of realistic titles.
Verizon's music service is another EV-DO-powered service that makes the V3m all the more desirable. With V Cast Music, your phone is a music player, letting you jam out wherever you are. It's also a music store, and you can download songs instantly to your phone wirelessly. Save your songs to a memory card with a capacity that's right for you. You can even pause to take a call without missing a beat.
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the RAZR V3m including a voice memo recorder, a calculator with currency converter, a calendar and an alarm clock. The phone supports the SyncML PC synchronization standard, which can be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar and other data with your PC.
Imaging and Entertainment The RAZR V3m's 1.3 megapixel camera bridges the gap between phones and quality digital cameras. The camera is also designed to capture video, and there are night and self-timer functions. Embedded animated screensavers and full screen wallpapers are built-in so you can set up the RAZR V3m to suit your tastes. The RAZR V3m supports V Cast 3D games, as well as other 2D-based games, which are available from Verizon's Get It Now service.
EV-DO Wireless Broadband Coverage Learn more about where EV-DO coverage is offered.
Vital Statistics The Motorola RAZR V3m weighs 3.49 ounces and measures 3.90 x 2.10 x .57 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 3.33 hours of digital talk time, and up to 325 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the CDMA 850/CDMA 1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

Apple iPhone 4G 16GB Quadband World GSM Phone (Manufacturer Unlocked) Review

Apple iPhone 4G 16GB Quadband World GSM Phone (Manufacturer Unlocked)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For the last 2 years I have been carrying a cell phone, an iPad Touch, an iPad Shuffle, and (when I thought I would need it) a camera. I was waiting for a device that would do it all in one, but without forcing me into an unwanted 2-year cell phone contract (I use an AT&T prepaid GoPhone account). The iPhone 4 is that device. For the most part, I adore my new iPhone. Only the substandard built-in software keeps it from being a 5-star product, IMHO. More on that later.
When I was reading reviews before my purchase I wanted to know if "factory unlocked" really meant what it said. Yes, I would have to say that it does. This was clearly a brand-new phone in factory packaging, not a phone that had been unlocked illegally. On the down side, because it had been packaged for the UK market, it came with a British-style plug on the wall charger! This didn't matter to me because I always charge my device from my computer, but the vendor should have mentioned it.
The important part was whether it was really mine to do with as I pleased. I took the AT&T SIM card out of my old Motorola phone, cut it down to size with a SIM cutter, and popped it into the iPhone. When connected to a computer running iTunes, the phone immediately started working with my same old phone number. It was that simple.
So now I have a $750 phone with a $100/year prepaid phone plan. But that's not as silly as it sounds, because I also have the following:
1) The world's best PDA. The high-resolution screen is so beautiful that I just want to sit and stare at it. The built-in apps are pretty lame, but the unbelievable bounty that is the iTunes app store more than makes up for that.
2) An astoundingly good camera. At 5MPs I expected it to be barely adequate as a camera, but I think it takes better pictures than my 10MPs point-and-shoot. Whatever it uses for a light meter is miles ahead of any camera I have ever owned. It takes the best low-light pictures I have ever seen, and when the flash IS needed it is never too bright. I love being able to operate the flash control, auto-focus point, and digital zoom right on the touch screen. The HDR feature is subtle, but amazing. And the 3rd-party apps (many of them free) - just SOOO much fun. This is not a professional quality camera, of course, but it just might be all the casual camera you will ever need.
3) An Internet connection device. Because I don't have a real phone plan, I mostly use wi-fi for my networking needs. But I also have a limited 3G data plan as a backup if I'm not in wifi range. Getting a prepaid data plan to work is a little tricky. You have to set the APN, and neither AT&T nor Apple will tell you how to do this. It's easy, though - just google it.
4) An OK music machine. It works as well as any iPod, but at 16GB it doesn't have the capacity to hold my whole music collection. If I'm just going to load music temporarily for on-the-go use I prefer my little Shuffle. If there were some way to pause the music on the iPhone with a single button press I would find it much more usable as an iPod.
5) An adequate phone. Honestly, the weakest function on the iPhone is the phone. The shape is awkward for a telephone and the sound is nothing to brag about. On the other hand, I have not had any problems with dropped calls or weak signal. I like the big lighted virtual buttons, and the fact that it integrates with my main address book. Mainly, as an infrequent cell phone user at best, I like the fact that I have a cell phone if I need it without having to carry an additional device.
6) A bright, directional LED flashlight. The LED bulb used for the new camera flash also works as a nifty little flashlight! How cool is that? Apple did not see fit to include a flashlight app as a built-in, so the first thing the new user should do is download the excellent free iLED Flashlight app.
7) A surprisingly effective eBook reader. Sure the screen is small but the resolution is so exquisite that you really can read on it. I read "Moby Dick" on my iTouch, and the screen resolution is even better on this device.
Downside - the built in apps are TERRIBLE. The contacts manager, notepad and calendar are primitive. There is no standard way to backup/restore application data, even for built-in apps. The built-in photo manager is jaw-droppingly bad. All pictures taken with the iPhone camera go into one huge folder called "Camera Roll." They can't be moved into sub-folders, renamed, sorted, or rotated if the orientation ends up backwards (which occasionally happens). And what excuse can there be for not including a flashlight app to go with the new LED light?
Fortunately, I had been through this with my iTouch, so I already had a nice set of apps for managing lists, contacts, appointments, recipes and so on. However, it took me a couple of weeks of experimentation and research, plus a small outlay of money for paid apps, to turn the magnificent iPhone4 camera hardware into a device that really can be used as a camera substitute. In short, the iPhone 4 is a device that is good but not great right out of the box. But if you are willing and able to spend a little time installing apps, it can be massively customized to make it the best electronic friend you ever had.

Pantech Matrix C740 Unlocked 3G AT&T Dual Slide GPS Cell Phone Red Review

Pantech Matrix C740 Unlocked 3G ATandT Dual Slide GPS Cell Phone Red
Average Reviews:

Okay first off I would like to say that the phone shipped very fast. That was the only good thing about this tho... When I opened the package I was expecting a slightly used looking phone. Hm. I suddenly realized that it came with no back, no protection for the battery. I thought this was odd but I thought I could be able to work around it. So I noticed some minor scratches, that was expected. I then turned the phone on, hoping to mess with it before putting the Sim Card in. It would not let me mess with the phone at all, I was curious but thought it was just part of the device or something. Later on put the Sim card in.. Nothing. Still the same warning.. "Please Insert Sim Card". And it still wont work. Piece of junk
To put it shortly, I was expecting a slightly used working phone, got a broken one. I am currently contacting the seller to get a refund as I send the phone back.

Latte Communications LM-NEON7850BLK neon 7 GSM Bluetooth Cell Phone - Unlocked Review

Latte Communications LM-NEON7850BLK neon 7 GSM Bluetooth Cell Phone - Unlocked

I really like this phone, Cingular, AT&T & T-Mobile, internet and MMS are already preset, the sound quality is really good. I haven't experienced any slow downs during transitions, that's great!! Also the reception in my terrible service area is superb, rivals my previous RAZR.
The downside the phone is really small, and the controls are not always responsive, the are no accessories out there, for this item, e.g. holsters and screen protection. A protector is sent with the item but it covers the entire face of the the phone which is awkward when using the touch screen. I would recommend this item for small women and teenage girls.

Palm Pixi Plus Verizon Cell Phone ~ No Contract Review

Palm Pixi Plus Verizon Cell Phone ~ No Contract
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was about to return this phone because Verizon wanted a $45 data plan just to activate it; then I read the brilliant comments by Chuck Homic.
Opening the package, I saw the ESN/MEID HEX printed on the box. I held down the power button until the PALM light lit up on-screen. It took a while for it to boot up. The phone tried twice to call Verizon and activate itself, to no avail.
On another phone, I called the Page Plus Cellular toll-free number and gave them the Pixi's MEID and the phone number that I wanted ported from my active, prepaid Verizon phone. They gave me a 'Premier Package' 6-digit activation code to dial from Pixi, and said that Verizon is usually quick to release your old number and to call back when they have done so.
It took about an hour or so that the old cell number stopped ringing the old phone, indicating that it had been ported.
In order to dial the activation code on the Pixi, you first press the little phone symbol on the screen and press Emergency Call. When the dialpad shows, hit the backspace three times to erase the 911 off the screen. Enter the six-digit code and hit the Call button. The phone will take a while to activate and will need to be rebooted when it's finished.
After you reboot the phone, you'll have to do the Phone Symbol- Emergency Call- erase 911- thing again. Now on the dialpad, try to call a phone number near you to test, like a home number or something. When the phone near you rings, hang up and listen for the confirmation on the phone that it's working.
IMPORTANT: Page Plus Cellular gives your account about $2 worth of phone/ text/ data to start your service. Because the Palm Pixi Plus requires a data connection to set up the Palm Profile and activate FIRST, you cannot use WiFi yet to do this. The $2 credit should be plenty to just set up your profile; if not, then call them from another phone and make sure you get the full-on Premier activation code.
When I was told this, and since I only use the Voice feature for rare 'emergency' and 'notice' calls, then I opted for the Standard Plan of $10 for 100 minutes that expire after 120 days ($30/year).
After the Palm Profile was set up, a brief video tutorial ensued. I then immediately tapped on the Signal Bars symbols to turn on the WiFi, and entered my router's WPA security code for access to my home WiFi network.
Now using my own WiFi, I felt FREE to import/ associate the Pixi with my Google contacts, emails, and calendar. Sweet.
Here are my notes on this - [Amazon took away the link to my SpringPad notes - [...] ]
UPDATE: I've put 380+ songs on it, plus the Pandora App, and I still have 5gb of space. The 'Amazon MP3' app is already built in. The music sounds so good that I ordered the Palm headset as well. I also like the AccuWeather app and about 16 others.
UPDATE: I got the dedicated Palm stereo headset for about $3 and discovered that double-clicking the Mic Mute button will advance to the next song (FF) - see review: Palm Stereo Headset for Palm Pixi and Palm Pre . At that price, I try to keep a pair in the car, work, etc.
UPDATE: I got a deal on the Belkin Bluetooth dongle for Home Stereo - NEW Version Belkin F8Z492-P Bluetooth Music Receiver and so that I could play my music on the Pixi over my full system; I really like that.
UPDATE: plugging and unplugging the charge cord was starting to be a chore, so I bought the TouchStone inductive charger from Palm where you just lay the phone on top of the thing - Palm Touchstone Charging Dock for Palm Pre and Palm Pixi. You have to use a special jacket w/ the TouchStone, and I chose one in bright orange - Palm Pixi Touchstone Cover (orange)
UPDATE: THE HOLY GRAIL FOUND -- 'Mark' commented on Chuck Homic's post on Jun 16, 2011 - how to keep voice calls coming in while shutting off cellular data usage but still allowing for WiFi data flow:
Mark says -
"Mobile hotspot is *not* the only way to consume data. The phone will try to use data silently in the background for you. But you can make it so that it won't do it via carrier data. Open up the phone app (the green phone handset icon), swipe down on the upper left hand menu and select "Preferences and Accounts". A new card will come up. Scroll to the bottom and you should see something labled "Data Usage". Set that to "OFF". This will also extend your battery life on the phone by quite a bit."
"If you really want to use the background data features of the phone - called "Synergy" - enable wifi and connect to your home wifi network."
Thanks, Mark
