I'm extremely happy with this phone. I have owned it for almost a month now. The menus are very responsive and the display is crystal clear and very high definition and more colors. The "free" RAZR that came with my plan is still sitting in the box -- doesn't compare.
I have added 1GB of memory using SD micro flash. So can definitely be used as a mp3 player. But you would need to get a NOKIA -> headphone adapter plug from third party vendor. Or you can use speaker on the phone in a pinch.
The camera takes great pictures as long as the lighting conditions are good. The menus have many options for customizing the phone (though some of these options are somewhat hidden from the casual user further down the menu tree).
The speaker independent voice recognition seems to pull up the correct name most of the time or give several to choose from in some cases.
I really like the flip phone button that opens the phone, so you can open it with one hand. It works very reliably and the spring has the right tension.
The keypad is lit and easy to see in darkness. Due to the high contrast and brightness of the display it seems to consume some battery power. On standby the phone can be on for many days if not used, otherwise you would need to charge every other day if you use features that keeps the display turned on for long periods of time (editing notes/organizer etc.).
Some nice features:
-Todo lists
-Notes
-Calendar
-Various kinds of reminders (with reminders that can be set before the event)
-The next item on your calendar today can be shown on the main screen on the bottom.
-MP3 player / w/equalizer
-Radio (need to use headphones (which also works as antenna))
-Black almost rubber-like finish for easy grip and does not scratch easily.
-Simple and userfriendly menus and keypad (the phone I purchased was not branded so did not have any of the preprogrammed "buy ringtones/wallpaper" buttons etc.
-Great voice quality
-Sych phone numbers/appointments via bluetooth/IrDA/cable
Highly recomended!~!

If you like the look and feel of Nokia phones, but you've been waiting for a powerful clamshell design from them, the wait is over. The quad-band Nokia 6131 packs a serious punch with support for EDGE data, dual high-resolution color displays, a 1-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD memory expansion, a music player, and a whole lot more.
Design The 6131's super thin design houses an inner display that sports impressive 240 x 320 resolution and support for 16.7 million, yes million colors. Meanwhile, the outside cover of the handset features a supplementary, 128 x 160, 262,000-color display that can display picture IDs, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The phone's camera unit is placed just above this display. Up and down buttons for volume control are placed on the left side and a camera control button is placed on the right. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's control pad. There's also an input to accept universal hands-free headsets, as well as USB and infrared ports for transferring data to and from the handset. The hot-swappable microSD/TransFlash memory expansion slot is compatible with cards with 2 GB of capacity.
Calling Features The 6131 supports polyphonic ringtones, as well as video-based ringers so you can load your favorite video clips to alert you of incoming calls. Plus, with the phone's picture and ringer ID functions, you can assign pictures and ringtones to your most common callers. If you want to be discreet, there's also a vibrate ringer mode. Meanwhile, speaker-independent voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names. The phone recognizes any voice, so you don't have to worry about pre-recording your commands. The 6131's phone book will keep track of all your contacts, and address book capacity is only limited by the phone's 11 MB of built-in memory. Lastly, there's an integrated speakerphone for talking hands-free. Lastly, the phone's Bluetooth connectivity means that your favorite Bluetooth headset is fully compatible.
Messaging, Internet and Tools The 6131 is a mobile messaging and Internet powerhouse. With support for the MMS (multimedia messaging service), the phone can send picture and text messages, and when coupled with the phone's powerful camera, MMS opens up great opportunities for robust messaging. The phone ships with a built-in email client that supports POP3, IMAP, and SMTP protocols. You can even open and view email attachments.
Getting on the Internet is easy with the 6131. It supports the GPRS data protocol, as well as the high-speed EDGE wireless data service. When used with your carrier data plan and the phone's USB or Bluetooth data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs. The phone is bundled with a mobile Web browser, too. Meanwhile, T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit -- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
The 6131 supports PC synchronization via USB or Bluetooth, which means you can manage and synchronize contacts, calendar and other data with your PC. Nokia's PC Suite application makes this process a breeze. A number of handy software tools are bundled with the 6131 including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, a to-do list, and an alarm clock.
Imaging and Entertainment This is where the real fun begins. The 6131's 1-megapixel camera takes great pictures and it can also capture video. And when you've got all the pictures you want on your memory card, you can connect the camera directly to any PictBridge-compatible printer for instantaneous printing right from the phone. The phone supports playback of streaming video in 3GPP format, too.
If mobile music is your thing, you can load up your MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, and WMA audio files and listen to your heart's content via the stereo headset jack. The 6131 also comes with a built-in stereo FM tuner so you can listen to your favorite stations wherever you roam. And don't forget about the games! The phone comes with a perennial favorite, Snake, as well as 3D soccer.
Vital Statistics The Nokia 6131 weighs 3.95 ounces and measures 3.62 x 1.89 x 0.79 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 3.4 hours of digital talk time, and up to 240 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies. Nokia 7390 Unlocked Cell Phone with 3.2 MP Camera, International 3G, Media Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with Warranty (Pink) Review

It was a very deceptive ad on Amazon website's shopping page. It was a picture and description of "Nokia 7390 Unlocked Cell Phone with 3.2 MP Camera, International 3G, Media Player, MicroSD Slot--International Version with Warranty (Pink)". It was a product sold by TigerDirect and advertised on Amazon.com. I placed the order and Amazon confirmed by follow-up email. Instead, I received a "Motorola H555 Bluetooth Headset Bulk Pack". It was my first purchase from TigerDirect and will never order from them again. I would have been a very loyal customer. I would also spread the word about this experience. If I could rate this review with "NO STAR", I would.
To Amazon, you should carefully screen ads posted by third party sellers.

Casio C711 G'zOne Boulder Cell Phone Orange Review

Casio C711 G'zOne Boulder Cell Phone Orange

I am really hard on my phones and I live in a place where getting reception isn't the best. This phone is perfect for someone who wants to take their phone with them EVERYWHERE, literally. I have had Verizon phones that I thought I had purchased extended type warranties for BUT NO. Water damage (MORE LIKELY HUMIDITY DAMAGE) IS NOT COVERED. Finally after I had had enough cheap phones (not so cheap when I had to replace them) I bought the more expensive phone because it was shock proof and water resistant. I have dropped this thing and kicked it along the street and it never missed a beat. Doing that to other phones I had, destroyed the display, caused the keypads to not function or get stuck and to just not work. The Boulder is as advertised. Its a tank.
I also love that I will be in my kitchen and receive text messages and phone calls and my wife won't even have service on her Verizon phone. The built in antenna is superb.
I love that it came with 2 batteries, one an extended life battery. I can practically go a whole week on a single charge with the extended life battery. That's pretty good especially if you are in the outdoors frequently like me. I wanted a phone that I could rely on. I wanted a phone that would outlast the two year contract period. Finally. They made a phone that will do that. I have had my Boulder for two years now. And it LOOKS AND WORKS just like I just took it home and out of the box yesterday.
The only down side to this phone are the limited ring tones that come standard. You can't have everything. My other phones (LG 8300 and 8350) had better ring tones, but you'd better not get close to a bathroom, or an open refrigerator, or a body of water; or even think of water. I take my Boulder Kayaking and have for two years. I put it in my life vest, with no special bags covering it; just as it is. It has not failed me yet. When the time comes that I need to replace this phone, they probably won't be making the Boulder anymore.
