(More customer reviews)If you're looking for a temporary phone to take with you when travelling overseas, then this is a good phone. It's small cube form factor makes it easy to carry and cost me less than $100.
Pro's:
1. Size. About 3-inch x 4-inch.
2. Slider with keyboard. Phone opens and closes by sliding it up and exposes the keyboard.
3. Battery Life. Phone last about five days of standby time with moderate use (about an hour talking a day)
4. Charger. Uses standard Micro-USB charger, one less cable and charger to carry
5. Built in features. Has everything you expect; Bluetooth, camera, music player, built in web browser. Although I haven't used any of these, it's there.
6. Cost. For under $100, this is an excellent value.
7. Quad Band GSM; can be used in almost all international countries that uses GSM.
8. Screen Quality; nice and bright, but over powering
9. Call quality; excellent
10. Signal Strength; was able to use it almost anywhere I wanted to. No problem with drop calls.
Con's:
1. The keyboard keys are hard to type; in fact they're smaller than the keys on the Blackberry
2. Crappy Interface. Navigating around the phone is almost impossible and makes no sense. The engineers who designed this must have been smoking the good stuff.
3. SMS is too painful. The interface is straightforward, but using the keyboard is almost impossible especially if you need to type numbers or special characters, forget it.
4. Setting up the time and date stamp is crazy! Also, once you set your home city, and change the time zone, the time/date stamp on the SMS is all screwed up. It would time/date stamp the outgoing message based on your home city, but text message you received are based on the changed time zone. Huh????
I've use this phone about three times since I got it, and all three was when I was travelling overseas. I have no worries about dropping or breaking this phone or if someone steals it, oh well. I can put up with the nuisance since it's only a temporary phone, but if it was my primary phone, I'd throw it out the window.
