I upgraded from a motorola razr v3m and I am totally happy that I did. First, the sound quality of my z6c is far superior than the razr and the awful lg chocolate that I got so pissed off with. I never have a dropped call with the z6c as opposed to my other 2 previous cells. Second, the reception on the z6c is so clear, I can't hear any static or interference from anything. The battery life is okay, not as good as my raszr but far superior than the lg chocolate. When I research this phone on the net and with talking with the verizon rep. I was sold on the reviews that I read on cnet about the battery life quality of the phone, sound quality and the features.

An eye-catching slider sensation, the Motorola RIZR Z6c World Edition provides easy roaming for globetrotters in addition to fast data and clear voice connectivity via Verizon's reliable CDMA network. The Z6c features fast and intuitive multimedia capabilities, and its espresso casing with a high-gloss front and soft-touch back makes it stylish for all jet setters. In addition to providing instant access to today's hottest music from Verizon's over-the-air V Cast Music service, the Z6c can also help you from getting lost, thanks to its GPS receiver and Verizon's VZ Navigator service for turn-by-turn directions. Other features include a 2-megapixel camera with video capture, Bluetooth stereo music streaming, MicroSD memory card expansion, and syncing with Windows Media Player.
If you require a phone without a camera, see the Motorola Z6cx model.
Dual Connectivity When used at home here in the U.S., you'll connect to Verizon's 800/1900 MHz CDMA network, as well as its 1xEV-DO 3G high-speed data network--which offers download speeds ranging from 400 to 700 Kbps and peak rates up to 2 Mbps. (Learn more about where EV-DO coverage is offered.)
But when you're traveling within a GSM network coverage area (900/1800 MHz) outside of the U.S. provided by Verizon Wireless' global roaming partners, the Z6c provides easy voice connectivity while roaming the globe. To use the Z6c outside of the U.S., customers should dial *611 (800-922-0204) from their Verizon Wireless phones to add global service to their calling plans before they leave home. You will also need a SIM card to use the phone on a foreign GSM network. (Note that you won't be able to access GSM here in the United States, as U.S. networks use the 850/1900 MHz GSM spectrum.)
Verizon Service Options The V Cast Music service enables you to download songs instantly to your phone, or purchase music through your PC and transfer the files to your phone. If purchased from your phone, you'll receive two copies of the song: a Windows Media Audio Pro Plus format at 64Kbps stereo is sent to your phone, and a Windows Media Audio 9 format at 160Kbps stereo is sent to your account in the V CAST Music online store for downloading to your PC. V Cast Music offers nearly 2 million songs, with more being added all the time.
With the V Cast Video service, you can stream or download video clips to your phone from a variety of news, entertainment, sports, and weather channels, including CNN, ABC News, E!, CBS Sports, The Weather Channel, and VH1.
Getting on the Internet is easy using Verizon's Mobile Web 2.0 package, which allows you to read and send e-mails, exchange instant messages and view your favorite web content on your phone. Verizon's Get It Now wireless download service is also fully compatible with this phone. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Get It Now service.
With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access Verizon's VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps.
Phone Features The Z6c retains the same slider design as its Z3/Z6 predecessors--a sleek profile and a unique, spring assisted opening design. A large 2-inch color display with a 240 x 320-pixel resolution and 65K colors dominates the top of the slider. The 2-megapixel camera lens is discreetly housed on the upper backside of the phone, safely tucked away until ready for use. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy.
The Z6c allows you to control your music player with the slider opened or closed. Skip to tracks or fast forward and rewind with one touch of the 4-way external navigation key, while the Music Keypad Lock Key prevents accidental button presses. Create a playlist for whatever mood you are in, and sort content by artists, albums, songs, genres using quick search functionality. The digital audio player supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, and WMA formats.
This phone provides Bluetooth version 1.2 wireless connectivity, and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and audio/video remote control. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking--surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server.
The 2-megapixel camera provides resolution up to 1600 x 1200 pixels, and you can choose from three other resolution choices (1.3 MP, VGA, and QVGA) as well as three quality settings within each resolution. Other features include an 8x zoom, flash (with five lighting choices), multi-shot capability, six color effects, and adjustable exposure setting. For video capture, the Z6c records clips in MPEG4 format in two resolutions--176 x 144 (QCIF) and 128 x 96 pixels--with editing options similar to the still camera. You can shoot video as long as your memory card has available space, and videos shot for MMS messaging are capped at 6 seconds.
A messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse, support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. Instant messaging is also supported, and the phone ships with a built-in email client. The Z6c also comes stock with a built-in web browser for downloads and mobile web browsing. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for entering text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
The Z6c's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contact entries with seven phone numbers per entry, while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. The RIZR's voice dialing feature makes calling family, friends, and business associates as easy as saying their names. Other features include:
MicroSD expansion up to 4 GB
Music file compatibility: MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA
Speakerphone
Vibrating alerts and silent mode
Hearing aid compatibility = M3/T3
Bilingual interface: English/Spanish
Two-way text messaging (CDMA and GSM)
Picture and video messaging (CDMA only)
Mobile IM and chat (CDMA only)
PIM tools: Calculator, calendar, alarm clock, world clock, notepad

Vital Statistics The RIZR Z6c weighs 3.7 ounces and measures 4.15 x 1.79 x 0.64 inches. Its 940 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 295 minutes of talk time, and up to 375 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the CDMA 800/1900 frequencies and Verizon's EV-DO data network. Additionally, it's compatible with foreign GSM networks (800/1900 MHz); global roaming requires SIM card and the addition of global service to your Verizon calling plan.
