National Geographic Duet/6002 Talk Abroad Unlocked Phone with 1 GB Memory, 2.0 MP Camera, Video, TV, USB, Bluetooth, MicroSD Slot, National Geographic Wallpapers, Ringtones and SIM Card Service--International Version with Warranty Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I ordered this phone for a 2 week trip around Europe! I have to say that the phone worked like a charm...the best part of the phone is the fact that it is a dual SIM phone. I was able to carry my international SIM and my t-mobile SIM in the same phone no problem. Granted the phone is from china, but come on what phones out there aren't from that part of the world. Reception was fine and switching out SIMs was no problem. The keys are a little small, but one can adjust once they have played with the phone for a while. Overall the phone worked great and I will use it again on my next trip out of the country.

Frequently Asked Questions Activating Your Service: Simply make a call in order to activate your National Geographic Talk Abroad SIM Card. Your service is valid for 12 months from the day of activation. Please note that while the service does work in North America (in areas with GSM coverage), the service is intended for use overseas and therefore, placing a call from your handset in North America is expensive.
Your Phone Number: You will have a UK phone number, regardless of where you are traveling. Your phone number will be clearly marked on the packaging.
Checking Your Credit: You may check your credit at any time by dialing 187 on your handset. This is a free service. You will receive a text message with your current credit. You will also receive your balance total on the phone screen after each call notifying you of your current credit.
Recharging Your SIM Card: You can add talk time at any time--along with your purchase as well as prior to and during your trip. Simply call Cellular Abroad 24/7 on our toll free number and we will immediately add talk time for you using your account information already on file or an alternative credit card. Additional call credit is $29, which equals 30 minutes of talk time for most popular destinations. Each time you add call credit or "recharge" your account, you will extend your service life for an additional 12 months from the date of the recharge. Previous call credit will accumulate to your new call credit.
Making and Receiving Calls: When you make a call, charges begin only when the other party answers the call or if the call goes to voicemail. Outgoing and incoming call charges, where applicable, are based on 60-second intervals.
Voicemail: Your voicemail is already activated. You can access your voicemail system from your handset. (It's the cost of a call to the UK.) From your handset, you dial a 3-digit number as per our instructions and follow the prompts to listen to messages. You will receive a text message alerting you of any new voicemails.
PLEASE NOTE: Voicemail will only pick up under the following circumstances--when the phone is on but not answered, when the line is busy (phone is in use) or when the phone is switched off.
SMS: You can send and receive SMS text messages from your National Geographic Talk Abroad SIM Card. However, neither we nor any carrier can guarantee that you will always be able to send and receive SMS messages in all circumstances and in all countries. SMS text messages are free to receive and are $0.60 to send, regardless of the country.
Is This a Call Back Type of Service? If you purchase the National Geographic Talk Abroad Travel Phone, the calls go through seamlessly and there is no call back. If you rent a phone or purchase a stand alone SIM card, there is a call back feature. What this means is that when you place an outgoing call, the phone will ring and you will need to press a key to respond as if someone were calling you. Why does this occur? When you place a call, your phone is actually sending a text message to the number and when the call is connected, it notifies the caller by ringing back.
How Do I Dial To/From My National Geographic Talk Abroad Phone? To dial to your phone from a US or Canada phone, dial 011-44 and then the number (011 is to get an international line and 44 is the country code for the UK, which the service is based out of). To dial from your National Geographic phone, if you have purchased the National Geographic Talk Abroad Travel Phone package, dial the country code followed by the area code and the phone number (ex. 1-212-555-1212). If you purchased just the SIM card or are renting a phone, you will need to dial 00 followed by the country code, area code and phone number.
