One person's long winded opinion on the Amber 7370.
About the Phone Itself:
I ordered this phone from another merchant last week. When it came in I was so excited; it was everything that I expected it to be. It was very cute and I received so many compliments on it. There were a few people who actually asked me what it was. =)
The phone is very sturdy and I don't think that falling out of the average person's pocket or hands onto the ground would do it too much damage. The twist feature of the phone is very unique and it didn't take much time at all to get used to it. The size of the screen is great; I think it's much larger then other phones which is incredible considering the size of this one. The back of the phone is what Nokia describes as faux-leather and adds a nice little contrast.
The sound level on this phone is average and the ringtone volume is good and has a few different levels to it. It has a vibrate feature as well.
This phone has bluetooth also which is fantastic for downloading themes and ringtones that you have made or downloaded from others.
The phone arrived with text, multimedia and internet settings for T-Mobile but that was easily fixed with Nokia's website. If you search out this phone on their page there is a section for downloads and they will send the information for your service provider directly to your phone in a text message. All you have to do from there is open the message and the settings put themselves in, piece of cake.
There is also a 1.3 megapixel camera on it which is pretty cool. If you have large fingers though plan on having a very rough time hitting the button to actually take the pictures. I don't have abnormally large hands but I was struggling to push the button correctly. That also goes for the power button which is on the side of the phone. It is so small it looks like something that you need to search out a paper clip or pen tip to depress. I was able to successfully accomplish these two tasks but I can see where it may be an issue for some.
About the Bands:
I didn't know very much about "bands" and the difference between "tri-band" and "quad-band" (that just means there's one more, right? *smiling blankly*) until I received this and started using it. This phone is tri-band and is missing 850. I would have full signal one second, nothing the next and calls were dropped every few minutes. After some research I came to the realization that this was because the phone was missing the 850 band which Cingular uses (around this area anyway ).
As I said before, this phone came with settings for T-Mobile installed on it so I'm pretty sure it would work wonderfully with that service. I can't say anything for other brands of service but it's definitly worth a call to your company to find out.
The Good:
~ Stylish
~ Sturdy
~ 1.3 Megapixel camera
~ Bluetooth
~ Large viewing screen
The Bad:
~ No 850 band
~ Very small buttons for power and camera
If this phone worked with my service I would be more than happy with it and probably wouldn't part with it. There are definitly phones out there with more bells and whistles but chances are good you're looking at this phone for style.
