The D900 is a good phone but the screen needs much work...Days after getting my phone the screen went half blank. I had to replace the screen completely. Normally, you would say this is an isolated case but I brought another one while the first one screen be replace and what happens? This new D900 screen went completely blank after 4 days. Therefore, I would advise anyone to buy a D900 until they fix the problems with the screen

The Samsung D900 is part of Samsung's Ultra Edition line, and for good reason: It's ultra thin, ultra powerful, and ultra cool. There's a lot of good stuff packed into this beautifully sculpted, stylishly slim slider, too. Goodies include Bluetooth, support for EDGE high-speed data, a 3-megapixel camera, a music player, and a microSD memory card slot. And because the D900 features global GSM quad-band flexibility, you can enjoy the D900 almost anywhere in the world.
DesignAt only 0.51-inches thick, the D900 is one of the thinnest sliders in the world. The D900's sliding design hides the phone's number pad under the display until you need to make a call. The massive, 240 x 320 display supports up to 262,000 colors--plenty of resolution and color depth for your videos and photos. A five-way center control button is positioned below the display, as are shortcut and selection keys. The phone's 3-megapixel camera is discreetly housed on the upper backside of the phone, safely tucked away until ready for use. USB data and charging ports are located on the phone's bottom edge. The D900 is fully compatible with Bluetooth stereo headset technology, and a microSD slot is also provided.
Calling Features With 60 MB of internal memory, the D900 is designed to hold up to 1000 of your favorite contacts' phone numbers and addresses. A call list remembers your most recent missed, received and dialed calls, and in addition to a vibrating alert, the D900 supports polyphonic ringtones and MP3-based music ringtones. A speakerphone lets you talk hands-free while you're doing other things, and picture caller ID lets you assign a photo to specific callers. Similarly, a ringer ID lets you assign ringtones to callers.
Messaging, Internet, and Tools The D900 has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging. Support is built in for sending and receiving text, video, graphics and sound via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. Lastly, receiving and sending emails is a cinch with the D900's built-in email client.
Getting on the Internet is easy with the D900, too. It supports the high-speed EDGE data protocol, and when used with your carrier's data service and the phone's USB or Bluetooth data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs. There's also a built-in browser for downloads and mobile Web browsing. T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile text messaging users.
A number of handy productivity tools are bundled with the D900 including a voice memo recorder, an alarm clock, a calculator with currency converter, a calendar, and a to-do list.
Imaging and Entertainment The D900's built-in 3-megapixel camera captures stills and video to the phone's internal memory, or to an optional microSD memory card. Meanwhile, the phone's powerful still camera sports an auto focus, a macro view option, and PictBridge technology.
Into music? You're in luck with the D900. Store your favorite MP3-based music on the D900 and listen whenever the feeling strikes you via crystal clear Bluetooth Stereo technology. Simply upload the songs from your PC via the phone's USB interface, then organize and play your songs with the D900's music management software. Lastly, if you want to dress up the D900, picture effects, custom screensavers, backgrounds, and themes can be set to fit your personality.
Java support is built into the D900, making it a powerful gaming companion. You can also use the handset's USB data connection to load more games and files onto the phone.
The D900 also sports an airplane mode feature, which allows the user to safely use the non-wireless functions of a phone (such as music, games, or organizer functions) on an airplane during flight.
Vital Statistics The Samsung SGH-D900 weighs 3.28 ounces and measures 4.07 x 2.01 x 0.51 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 6.50 hours of digital talk time, and up to 260 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies.
