My Treo 650 finally died. I'm a dyed in the wool Palm user, so nothing short of a Palm OS device would satisfy me. The Centro is too small for my hands, and too many people have problems with the Centro randomly shutting off, so the legacy 680 was the natural choice.
The keys are a bit more pronounced than the 650, so keyboard use is much easier. There is only one shift key on the left side, so that takes a bit of getting used to, as does the hot key arrangement. The new software is a minor upgrade from the 650, but is quite refreshing.
The SD card is on the side and under a cover, so no more accidentally ejecting the card. A slimmer battery is used, so battery life is not as long, two days of normal use, and I get worried. But the new sync cable also charges the phone. The 680 also fits in the 650 cradle, so I didn't have to replace that.
If you are looking to replace and old friend and don't want the newer models be cause of size or having to switch to Spring for the new Pre, finding one of these 680's in good condition is the way to go.
