(More customer reviews)I bought a RAZR2 V9x when it first became available. When I saw it, I could hardly wait to own one. I thought MOTOROLA had a real winner with this cell phone. It's appearance was sharp and eye catching. The features the phone had lived up to the appearance of the phone. Whenever someone saw the RAZR2 V9x I was using people would ask to hold it and see what it was like. I was very proud of the phone. While it was working, it worked great. Then the problems started.
After about 6 (six) months the charging port started malfunctioning. About a month later the charging port failed completely. My great looking, eye catching, MOTOROLA RAZR2 V9X was dead, worthless and I had a 2 year contract. Too my surprise AT&T replaced the phone. Everything was great again, I thought.
I received a "REFURBISHED" MOTOROLA RAZR2 V9X. Within about a month I could not receive calls on the phone. When I tried to answer the phone, nothing would happen. The key pad was not working. At first I thought this was a fluke and maybe it would not happen again. WRONG!!! I took out the battery and tried to reboot the phone but to no avail. I put the phone up and the next morning it was working. This scene played out over and over again. My great looking, stylish phone was worthless.
AT&T did not want to hear about it this time. I was instructed to contact MOTOROLA. I called Motorola they said send it in and let us look at it. I sent it off and got it back in 4 (four)days. Motorola rejected the phone. MOTOROLA said it had WATER DAMAGE and my warranty was void. The phone had never beem wet. Motorola said the indicator dot showed water damage. The dot was still just as white as the day I received the phone. I appealed the decision and sent the phone back. MOTOROLA sent the SUPPOSEDLY "WATER DAMAGED" RAZR2 V9X BACK. This time it was different. The tech inspecting the phone put a RED arrow pointing to the white indicator dot and rejected the phone again. I live in South Texas and the humidity can be brutal. This phone would malfunction whenever I went outside and the humidity was high. I went from a air conditioned home into the heat and humidity outside. I saw the screne fog up with humidity. That is the only possible way the phone could have been "Water Damaged" If a phone can not go from indoors to outdoors it is flawed. The techs that supposedly looked at my phone were in McAllen Texas.
What can I say. In my opinion the early RAZR2 V9X phones had a LOT OF PROBLEMS. AT&T bailed out Motorola on the first warranty. But, evidently told Motorola they would have to pick up the tab this time, and Motorola did not want to get started replacing LEMON PHONES THAT WERE FLAWED. IT WOULD SET A BAD EXAMPLE AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO ADMIT THE PHONE HAD PROBLEMS. DO YOUR HOME WORK. Google the Motorola RAZR2 V9x and there are many similar problems that MOTOROLA denied. How could the tecs in McAllen put a red arrow pointing to a WHITE water damage indicator dot that was still white.
Motorola seems to me that they only want to "HONOR" their warranty when it is not a frequent problem. If it is a BAD DESIGN, AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS, DO NOT EXPECT MOTOROLA TO STAND BEHIND THE WARRANTY. I beleive the "TECHs" in McAllen were following instructions from MOTOROLA. If the flaws in the MOTOROLA RAZR2 V9X have not been fixed, I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE.
Because of the way "MOTOROLA" AND THEIR "TECHS" HANDLED THESE PROBLEMS PHONES, I would be very careful about spending a lot of money on MOTOROLA PHONES AND TABLETS with questionable "NEW" Technology and Questionable WARRANTY TECHS.
