--you would rather not be bothered by irritating calls
--you prefer to charge your phone every single day
--you prefer to receive messages and texts several hours after they are sent.
--you like having really small buttons, making texting difficult
--you would rather not have information from voice mails available on screen--you have to actually listen to the voice mail just to find out who called!!!
That's right, this is the cell phone that while fully charged sends calls right to voice mail while turned on, then informs you of a missed call hours later. I have had two of them and am battling AT & T to get something else. The worst thing is that, despite its obvious flaws, if you are a light user you don't realize the missed calls thing is the a phone issue until you've had it for a while.
Additionally, changing the volume on the speaker is a challenge--you can only do it while a call is in session and it is a very small button on the side of the phone--no setting on disk; you cannot see incoming caller id without opening the phone; the battery life is pathetically short; and the camera is utterly worthless.
This phone would have been a stellar performer in, say, 1985. Now it just sucks, out loud.

In addition to making crystal clear calls, with the Z310i in hand you can send and receive email, browse the Web, synchronize your PC calendar and contacts, and more. Built-in Bluetooth technology offers wireless freedom for handsfree headsets and PC downloads. Other great features include a rounded clamshell design with an internal antenna, a VGA camera, RSS reader, EDGE data, a speakerphone, disappearing front indicators, an external display, and more.
DesignThe Z310i's 65,000-color, 128 x 160 display is housed under the front cover while the outside sports a supplementary monochrome LCD 96 x 64 screen that can display time, caller information, and more. Located just above the outer display are unique disappearing backlit indicator icons that indicate battery and signal strength, message status, and multimedia status. The indicators fade away when not in use, leaving the phone's outer interface clean and sleek looking. The handset's VGA camera is housed on the front cover as well, just above the indicator icons. The Z310i uses an internal antenna--leaving nothing to snag or break off--and a five-way button just above the dial pad is used to control most of the phone's menus and features. Up/down buttons on the left side of the phone can be used for quick volume control and menu navigation. USB data and charging ports, as well as a headset port, are located on the phone's bottom edge.
Calling FeaturesThe Z310i's call list remembers most of your recent missed, received, and dialed calls. The phone also features a speakerphone for easy, hands-free talking. In addition to a vibrating alert, the phone supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3- and AAC-format ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. There's even a bundled application that lets you mix your own ringtones with up to 16 tracks. Picture caller ID lets you assign a photo to specific callers. Similarly, a ringer ID lets you assign ringtones to callers. Lastly, the phone also comes with conference call capabilities--an ideal feature for both business and leisure applications.
Messaging, Internet and ToolsThe Z310i has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging. Support is built in for sending and receiving text, graphics, and sound via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun (carrier messaging charges may apply). Instant messaging is also supported and the phone ships with a built-in email client.
Getting on the Internet is easy with the Z310i, as it supports the GPRS protocol. When used with a carrier data plan and the phone's USB or Bluetooth data capabilities, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs. There's also a built-in Web browser for wireless downloads and mobile Web browsing. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the Z310i including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock with a timer and stopwatch. Sony Ericsson Sync Station software lets you synchronize your Microsoft Outlook calendar, contacts, notes, and tasks with your phone.
Imaging and Entertainment The Z310i was designed for serious fun. The built-in VGA camera captures stills and video to the phone's 14 MB of internal memory. Picture effects such as a night mode, white balance and brightness control, and a self-timer are also included. The Z310i allows for custom screensavers, backgrounds, and themes to be set up to fit your personality.
Java support is built into the Z310i, making it a powerful gaming companion for both online and offline games. Games are downloadable via the Internet or you can use the handset's USB or Bluetooth data connections to load more games and files onto the phone.
Vital Statistics The Sony-Ericsson Z310i weighs 3.20 ounces and measures 3.40 x 1.80 x 1 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 7 hours of digital talk time, and up to 300 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.
