(More customer reviews)I purchased one of the refurbished LG Chocolates because the one I had for almost four years received a lemonade bath, from which no trick of my technical experience could undo. The first unit was defective, but BBB shipped a second one on a Friday that arrived on Monday. The replacement works just fine. Michael at BBB was responsive and helpful. I'm skeptical of buying anything used, particularly electronics, but, so far, the experience has gone better than my expectations.
Verizon is (IMNotHO) aggressively selling gimmicks and bandwidth, not useful telecommunication devices. Yes, web access is useful, but if you want a basic phone, you are out of luck.
Folks who complain about esoteric aspects of cell phone function (how perfect/flawed is the voice-recognition feature) might not be best-served by buying refurbished electronics. This is a good, reliable phone & BBB seems (on a limited sample size of 1) to be a good vendor.
