(More customer reviews)I tried this item on an iPhone 3G 8GB, running version 2.2.1(5H11) and firmware 02.30.03 (there is no soft unlock for this version of the firmware yet that I could find) and it did not work.
I tried it with my friends t-mobile SIM and rebooted my phone over and over but it did not work. As such my recommendation would be not to buy it if you are working with the specifications above. I'd go for a refund but it's not worth the trouble.
